Beautiful hotel hotel in Porto.
Wine lovers dream with excellent wine cellar and collection of Portuguese wine. They have definitely gone above and beyond to ensure all wants are met. The epitome of comfort. Beautiful welcome surprise by the hotel. They are very attentive and service is superb.

The restaurants, the live music, the breakfast. Everything is impecable except for the spa.The spa was a true disappointment. If you are looking for a spa experience, this will not fit the bill. This spa is poorly managed, the guests are NOT pampered. I was here for 2 hours and the refreshments bar was empty. I requested water but was never given; the front desk staff is not the friendliest. I would skip the spa all together. 5 stars for hotel, zero stars for spa.

Wow. I almost don't want to write this review because this hotel/restaurant is 10/10. Arthur has been amazing and we appreciate all his knowledge along with the spectacular views. Thank you for having us.
Be the first to ReplyThis hotel definitely epitomizes classic luxury.
After spending weeks researching and booking hotels in Porto, this one caught my eye for their unique views of the city, and the infinity pool. Service was very good, and there is no other hotel in the city that offers such outstanding views from the rooms. Each room has access to an amazing backyard view of the city. As others mentioned, the rooms could use some updating, but for comfort and quality, everything is fantastic, and in terms of matching the aesthetics of the rest of the hotel, I don't think remodeling would make sense. We stayed in a superior room, and really enjoyed the coziness, and were huge fans of being able to see the view from the private tub. There are 2 pools which are quite nice. The outdoor one is open all the time but is not heated. The view from it is amazing, but it is smaller compared to other pools such as the one at Marina Bay Sands. The indoor pool must be booked for 1.5 hour intervals, and we strongly recommend booking only for daytime hours as nothing can be seen at night due to window reflections. Overall, the selling point of this hotel is the incredible view, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Porto.
Be the first to ReplyA large, fading luxury property located across the river
A large, fading luxury property located across the river from Porto with excellent views of the city. We stayed for 3 nights in late September/early October in room 514. It's a fairly large property and a member of The Relais & Château association.Things I liked:-our room was quite large with a big patio and million dollar view-large variety of food/restaurant options-particularly liked the food at the bar (a bit more familiar to Americans weary of Portuguese food)-friendly, helpful staff-especially Luis at Dicks bar, Sara at breakfast and the bell staff (front desk just ok)-breakfast was included and the buffet, while fairly typical for Europe in terms of food, was ample and fresh and service was good-especially Sara-nice outdoor pool although as it was September and a bit cool, only saw seagulls using it-good location with beautiful views of the city and bridges-all rooms have a view-hotels #1 asset-they use a service to harass the seagulls with a cool guy who flys Lucifer, a Harris hawk around most afternoons-he was GREAT to talk with and learn about the bird.Opportunities:-the hotel decor may be considered "classic" by some but to me the creamy yellow walls and orange drapes in our room and the slightly shabby carpet felt a bit like grandma's living room-i think the hotel is in need of a refresh to bring it up to today's standards -Wi-Fi coverage just ok -good in room but weak on patio and public places like restaurant and bar and a bit inconsistent -lack of available electricity or USB ports by bed for charging electronics - to me is a must for this level of hotel-smaller bathroom with only a single sink and older fixtures-shower is small and water leaked out all over bathroom floorLike so many places in Porto, this large property seems geared to the large, ever increasing tour bus groups. There were also some corporate groups during our stay. Our room was comfortable enough but wasn't quite up to snuff with the features of today's luxury properties. That said, the view alone is reason enough to stay here and if you readjust your expectations a bit-say older Marriott property- its a fine place to stay. Definitely not a top-tier luxury resort and definitely not as posh as other Relais Château properties we've visited.
Be the first to ReplyThis is for the spa and restaurant.
I had the sparkling afternoon tea retreat. The express massage time apparently starts when the therapist lays eyes on you and wasn't anything special. I got some mild food poisoning from the afternoon tea which was very boring and not even very tasty. The rest of the spa was nice. If possible I would just get a day pass to enjoy the facility. I'd skip the food and spa treatments
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel, the staff here is amazing.
They attentive to your needs!! The room is amazing! Both pools have a great view as and same owners as the Taylor winery across the street which is quality!! Definitely check out Taylor winery as well if you come to Porto!! Love this place!

Outside patio bar...Service spotty and super slow. And we weren't in a hurry. Sat for 15 mins and no one came over to us. Finally after asking someone came. Our kids wanted turkey sandwich with out egg and they told us there were no condiments such as mayo on it. Both sandwiches came with egg and mayo. Glass of wine may husband got was maybe a 3 oz pour. A couple next to us smoked at the same time on 3 occasions in a 30 minute time frame. I should have just smoked a cigarette. And not the Yeatman fault. So unfortunately not the best experience for us tonight.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel with cool views.
They need furniture for all the rooms. Breakfast buffet is pretty solid too. I love Porto!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best views of Porto from Gaia.
.. definitely worth checking out. We visited before heading to lunch and decided to seat in the outside terrace. Please make sure you have your camera at hand because you will want to take lots of pictures. The hotel is beautiful , the decor is exquisite, take a stroll down the hallways and see some of the one of a kind art displays and souvenir shops. Even though our stay was short, we were able to enjoy Taylor's 12 year port wine overlooking the amazing city of Porto. This is definitely a place to disconnect , relax and enjoy the view. Our waiter was extremely polite and courteous. We tried their cheese platter and had 2 glasses of wine each , rounded up to about $70 , definitely not a cheap place for portuguese standards , but the experience is definitely worth it.

The location is a cab ride from anything, but that's part of the package with the incredible view. Cocktails on the deck would have been world class had the service not been so deliberately slow and condescending. No doubt this spot is a destination for oligarchs and barons, but we were made to feel second class.
