Came here a few years back and decided to try this place out again. We ordered the seafood guac tail, steamed clams, fish and chips and calamari. The guac was tasty- I just wish there was more crab meat inside this tasty dish :) the clams were so good. Garlic flavored and plentiful. This plate seemed like it was bottomless with so many clams to eat. The juice was perfect for the buttered bread that was served. The fish and chips were so flaky on the inside and very crispy on the outside. I'm wish I could've ordered 4 more pieces... maybe 5. The fish and chips would be my go-to dish. I remember 8 years ago- there was a special for Fridays when on lent... something of an all you can eat fish and chips or discounted fish and chips... despite the change in the economy, I hope that amazing deals comes back in the future for old times sake :) the calamari was served with meaty and soft pieces with crispy breading. It wasn't rubbery and chewy... similar to mozzarella sticks without the cheesy stretch... so good!I appreciate the friendly staff and the prompt service. The social atmosphere and the evening marina view was great. Thank you for the great food and service!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and great, friendly service.
They have the best cocktails and an extensive menu. Try to get a seat on the patio as the view of the marina is a great backdrop for a yummy meal.

I've been coming to Tony P's for years and have never had a bad meal. The ambiance of being on the water and the attitude of the servers has never disappointed. My usual go-to is The Southern Fried Chicken Salad but wanted something different this time. I was going to get a burger but then another server walked by with a plate of fish n chips. That's it! I got a 3-pc plate and it was outstanding, really good tarter sauce. Couldn't finish it though and I ended up with enough left over for breakfast (yes!) the next morning. Other favs; their bloody marys and the happy hour martini. Definitely need to go again and hope it warms up soon so we can sit on the ground-level patio.
Be the first to ReplyI'll start off by saying the service itself was decent.
Our server, Amanda, was sweet and attentive. But the entire reason you go to a restaurant is for the food. Especially one that charges quite a bit of money for some pretty basic stuff. And in the food department, that's where Tony P's fails miserably. My fiancé and I have been wanting to try this place for a while passing by it, and dear god do I wish we hadn't. Basically just know when you come here, you are 100% paying just for the view (as long as you pick patio seating). The best way I can describe it, is over priced hospital cafeteria food. Literally. First off, I ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Not once have I ever been to any restaurant that serves clam chowder in any type of bread bowl other than sourdough. Even Disneyland (or rather California Adventure) knows that if you order soup in a bread bowl, it comes in sourdough. Not only was the soup CLEARLY old and been sitting there for a while as the top of it was cold and only warm towards the bottom, it was served in one of the most disgusting, cheap dollar store-quality dinner roll type bread bowls I've ever tasted. Legit, I didn't know it was even possible to mess up bread, but somehow this place found the cheapest, worst tasting one they could. Then my fiancé ordered a cheese burger, and I ordered the stuffed tilapia, which I should have known better. First off, the stuffing of "blue crab and Mexican shrimp" was clearly just canned crab. And not even the good kind, the kind they sell at dollar tree. And the fish itself was actually just as bad. Literally had NO seasoning whatsoever on it, so not only did it taste like nothing, the texture was pure rubber. Which means either it was over cooked, or was a frozen filet they thawed quickly in the microwave before throwing on the grill for a couple mins, completely unseasoned in any way. I've legit had better quality fish in a filet-o-fish. The manager (I'm assuming he was anyways) came by and when he asked how everything was I was honest, so lucky for me he took it back, and our server came back so I could order the "keto platter fish" instead. Basically just basic generic cheap white fish, and cabbage. As basic as you can get. This time it was better (at least had a proper texture), but was still clearly horrible low quality. Legit the best thing in my whole meal was the cabbage garnish under the fish, and that's probably just because they bathed it in butter. Meanwhile my fiancé's cheeseburger was the most basic, frozen store bought patty, pretty sure they microwaved that one too burger either of us has ever seen or tasted. Pretty much the only thing even halfway decent in our entire combined meal, was her basic side salad. And how much did this little lunch come out to? $70. I wish I was joking. And it ain't even the kind of food you find at a nice hospital cafeteria, more like the county hospital where you have to trip over methheads just to get into the ER entrance. The kind of meal a nurse brings you if you got admitted and they're in a really bad mood. And you can tell they know it too cause you could tell on our waitress's face that she already knew and even kind of felt bad. Also the 35 mins that I spent on the toilet later that night was a pretty good indicator on how fresh my meal was, and since this place was the only thing I'd eaten that day, clearly it was the culprit of the porcelain paint job that rocketed out.So all in all, if you're happy with dropping a Benjamin just for you and a friend to stare at some boats for a little while, by all means, enjoy this place. If you want to eat at a place that you'd see on any Gordon Ramsay show where he immediately spits the food out and goes "my god, what is this shit you donkey!?", then have at it. But if you actually care about eating anything that's even remotely fresh or made with ingredients that weren't clearly picked up at the $.99 only bargain bin, then please save your hard earned money and avoid this place like the plague. Just go to the cafeteria at IKEA instead. Even their bread is literally better than Tony P's.Edit: Perfect example of exactly how badly a place is run is you can see exactly how the owner decides to deflect, and make excuses for their cheap business practices just because they get called out instead of actually addressing the issue, and you can see the lovely "Tony P" himself writing below. I'd love for him to try to invite an actual professional chef in to taste his unseasoned, $30 rubber fish and call them out on their crap quality. The kind of delusional owner that you'd see on every episode of kitchen nightmares. I'll definitely make sure I never spend another dime of my money at a business owned and run by an excuse-making self aggrandizing douchbag who can't take responsibility for his own restaurant :).
Be the first to ReplyThe food was great.
Massive portions but maybe that's me being a Brit in LA! We got The chicken appetiser and it fed 3 people! The seafood pasta was amazing but my absolute favourite was the huckleberry cocktail it was incredible!!! The service was definitely good but next time i think I'll sit on the patio as I definitely felt due to being the only ones In the dining hall it was a little faster outside. The best part of the service was defiantly the response to me leaving a personal item In the restaurant. The staff kept it safe for me and even let me come and collect it while they closed up. Thank you so much Tony Ps I'll 100% be back.

I was very excited to go to Tony P's last night with my husband. He ordered the fish and chips which was great! I ordered the filet mignon, with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were great, but the steak was flavorless, not very tender and luke warm. We went early and the dinner crowd hadn't arrived yet, so that wasn't an excuse. The service wasn't very good either. The server brought the fish and chips and brought me a clam chowder bowl. Obviously a mistake. He then brought the correct meal. Overall, I was disappointed in the quality of my $40 steak and will never order that again. Sorry Tony, you didn't live u to your standards last night
Be the first to ReplyGreat location.
Crab cakes and clam chowder were delicious. Great sports bar as well.
Be the first to ReplyOur family loves this restaurant for birthday celebrations
Our family loves this restaurant for birthday celebrations or impromptu get-togethers. Featuring a menu full of delicious offerings for diverse palates, it's hard to beat Tony P's for brunch or dinner. I will warn that their appetizers are large servings. Whether sauteed mushrooms, sushi, pizza or any of their chicken starters, it's easy to fill up on one or more of these, so you may want to be conscious about leaving room if you plan to order a main course.Indoor and outdoor dining is available while overlooking a picturesque marina. There's a sports bar adjacent to the restaurant with generous seating for small or large groups. Parking is always free (and there's plenty of it!) which is a refreshing bonus when dining anywhere in Los Angeles.Perhaps the best thing about Tony P's, however, is the exceptional service provided by the wait staff. While we've always enjoyed impressive support by various servers, we do have a personal favorite named Teresa and we request her whenever she's available. Seriously, we're typically a large group of about 10-20 people ranging in age from toddlers to esteemed elders. Teresa's warm attention to detail, ability to anticipate our needs and timely responses to our varied requests are always accompanied with a sincere smile and friendly grace. Again, all of the wait staff are super helpful, but Teresa is a personal fav so if she's available when you're there, do not hesitate to request a table in her section if at all possible. So, whether you're looking for a place to enjoy a good game, a delicious meal and/or a scenic view, Tony P's is the place to be!
