Tulip Pasta & Wine Bar Philadelphia Reviews from The Last Year
I had seen this place as a new restaruant and had been
I had seen this place as a new restaruant and had been wanting to try this place. I came here with two of girl friends for one of their birthdays and it was a great experience!! We got the pre-fixed menu and it is an amazing deal and great bang for your buck. It came with 1 appetizer, three pastas, and a dessert!! We had so much leftover we all took almost a whole portion home. The cacio-pepe was SOO good! It wasnt your usual c&p but had a nice kick!! We also got the beet ravioli which was also a hit!! The third pasta dish was a mushroom pastina and that was great as well! It was all high quality fresh pasta and the flavors went so well together!! I have been wanting to come back with my husband for a date night and constantly rave about this place.
Overall 3-3.
5 stars. Food: we got 2 pasta dishes and 2 hot apps. Chicken: left something to be desired. Not dry, but was served with a verde which didn't match the flavor. Broccoli rabe: fried and crunchy, it was flavorful and we enjoyed this. Buttery mushroom pastina: the mushrooms were great, creamy dish with a melting Brie type cheese in the center which was unique. Tagliatelle ragu: our favorite one of the two pasta dishes, red sauce based but we were disappointed in the lack of meat chunks. Service: excellent. Polite and quick, attentive. No complaints. Ambience: sitting at the kitchen was the best, watching the cooks is always a unique experience. They serve wines, beers and liquors from PA only which is unique. A small selection of wines. Overall a good experience, but nothing was so outstanding that I need to go back. If asked to go, I would join a friend.

Great little spot in Fishtown! We came here to celebrate my birthday, as we have walked by it many times and I've been wanting to try it. I would definitely advise making a reservation. We were seated in the back room (which we didn't know they had) next to the window! It was very intimate and a perfect spot for a date night. The server was wonderful and walked us through the menu. We decided to do the $55 tasting menu per person which included 2 appetizers, 3 pastas, and 2 desserts. For the appetizers, we got the fried cauliflower and the polenta hush puppy. The cauliflower was the highlight! The pecorino cheese sauce it came with was to die for. For the pastas, we got the ricotta gnocchi, beef agnolotti, and duck fat carbonara. All were great, with the gnocchi being both of our fav! And lastly for dessert, we had the ricotta fritters and casaba cake! The fritters were the better of the two in my opinion, but the cake was still good. The only aspect of the meal that wasn't my favorite was the wine. They partner with a local vineyard, and the red wine we had just wasn't for us so we will probably drink a cocktail or bring wine next time! But overall would definitely recommend and will be back!
Great pasta and great wine! This restaurant is a Fishtown
Great pasta and great wine! This restaurant is a Fishtown must try! Highly recommend making reservations beforehand.
Service is a 5, food a 4.
We did the tasting menu and it was absolutely worth it - SO much food. The mushroom pastini was our favorite. Our server Valerie was one of the best servers we've had in Philly. Shoutout to her.
Perfect for a girl's night out or date.
HOWEVER, it is not the most intimate setting depending on where you're sitting. The tables were far too close together to other groups to the point where i actually requested to be seated in a somewhat secluded spot by a window. I give them five stars because they were accommodating with this request. The food was also delicious! I had the Cacio de Pepperoncini and we also ordered their focaccia. I enjoyed both. The portions are pretty big, so i ended up taking a lot of the pepperoncini home.
Great for a romantic date, or a night out with friends.
The menu is thoughtful and expertly prepared. It can be a bit loud, depending on where you sit, but the overall experience is worth it.
The octopus ink pasta is really good.
I love how it's sour and savory. The bread with honey butter is super delicious. I love it
The homemade pasta is amazing! I went here with a friend
The homemade pasta is amazing! I went here with a friend and they offer an option it's $55 a person and you get two appetizers three pastas and two desserts, a few of other reviews mentioned that the portions are a little on the smaller side, this price seemed fair to me for the amount of food we got we have leftovers of each of the pastas and the desserts that we were able to take home! The yucca app was both of our favorite app and then the cacio e pepperoncini our fav pasta. It's like a fresh take on cacio e Pepe but instead of ground black pepper it's like fresh peppers made into the sauce! I will definitely be back, if you go try to go with someone who will share the tasting menu with you, it's totally worth it!
What a nice cozy place for food! We got their tasting menu
What a nice cozy place for food! We got their tasting menu which they were offering for $55 a person for 2 appetizers, 3 pastas, and 2 desserts. It was a loooot of food but we got to take some home thankfully. For apps: we got the focaccia and the chicken skewers. Both were good! The focaccia was like a giant round salt roll which was quite fluffy and warm. It wasn't like the flat rectangular dimply bread that I was used to but it was still quite good. It was a very large piece so we were already getting full from the apps For pasta: these change seasonally but we got the squid ink linguine, the crab ravioli, and the lamb meatball spaghetti. My favorite was the crab ravioli which had toasted pumpkin/pepita seeds on top. For desserts: we had the chocolate polenta cakes which were very rich and delicious! I was super full at this point and wish I had more room to eat the dessert. It tasted like a brownie but better. The service was also very good!

It depends how far out in the future your reservation is. If you posted a reservation hat was 2 months out, itβs unlikely many people will view your reservation. It could also be that your reservation is just not desirable.
