Veeraswamy London Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent Restaurant
Went today as part of a weekend away to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Loved it. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it, staff are really pleasant and attentive, didn’t even have to top my own water glass up. The food was exquisite. We were served by the nicest man, he was good enough to take our photo, and then when we thought we were finished he came out with a small cake and Happy Anniversary piped on the plate. A lovely surprise to a perfect meal. Made us feel special.
Nice dining experience
Had an enjoyable meal. Nice elegant surroundings. Opted for the tasting menu. Starters very tasty, one prawn starter, one chicken. Only criticism was same coriander chutney was used on both plates (lucky for me I love coriander!). Could have done with a different flavour to enhance the taste experience further - maybe a mint / mango dressing. Mains selection of 4 curries. All 4 were tasty, the pineapple curry was a nice refreshing mouth cleanser to break down it up a bit. Delicious lamb. Rice and Nan nice and light. Chocolate ganache desert again very tasty, not too heavy and full of flavour. Booked for an occasion so it was a really nice touch to receive a special Happy Anniversary plate with 2 sorbets and a candle. Overall a nice relaxing dinner experience with tasty food
DIVINE
In one word: Divine. Located on Regent street, easy reachable by foot or public transportation. The actual restaurant areas are located on the 1st and 2nd floor. Staff is very service oriented, professional and very kind. Every detail of the interior was on point: real candles, real rose petals on the table, super comfortable chairs, beautiful accessories. And now, the FOOD; delicious. We were two people, each a starter, a main dish and a dessert. One of us is lactose intolerant (milk, butter and cream to be avoided). They were very flexible and adjusted some dishes (taking out milk and adding an alternative). We had a side of butter naan and roti; both delicious. We ended with 2 scoops of sorbet ice cream (dark chocolate and rasphberry), extremely good. Would I return? Absolutely! This is a restaurant where you can really sit, relax, enjoy delicious food, and wonderful ambiance.
Best food we had while in London and probably the best
Best food we had while in London and probably the best Indian food we've ever had. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice as well.
Amazing food! Exceptional service!
I was here for my 75th birthday with my twin sister and two life-time friends. We used to come as children with our parents. It's amazing! The quality of the food and exceptional service made this a very special evening. Only in smart hotels in India and at Cyrus Todiwalla's wonderful dockland restaurant, Cafe Spice, will you find Indian food at anything approaching this quality. The food is just so subtle and literally everything was absolutely delicious.
Incredible, ten out of ten. !
The business lunch menu is an amazing deal 3 courses for £41. Seated upstairs, the decor is stunning, it’s so beautiful, even the music is light and jazzy. I saw pineapple curry on the main menu, mmm maybe next visit I’ll try that. The food is served in silver bowls and looks so good, it all tasted amazing, so fresh and aromatic. One of our party ordered the vegetable korma and it was outstanding, creamy but with a tiny hit of flavour, probably one of the best dishes I’ve ever tasted. It’s not cheap, but the business menu is a real winner. This is one classy restaurant.
Wonderful
I can’t rate veeraswarmys highly enough, super service and the food is amazing, a level above any other Indian restaurant

One of our goals on our trip to London this month was to find the best Indian food. This was it! Comfortable ambiance. Great hospitality. But most importantly, excellent cuisine. Some others are more highly touted with more extravagant build-outs, but none were comparable in terms of what pleases the palate.

Stumbled upon this restaurant yesterday and search of Indian food. As Destiny would have it, Veeraswy is the oldest Indian restaurant in London and has a rich history. There is a sense of classiness, and all the staff, including general managers are extremely professional and attentive. The food was delicious, but expect to pay accordingly, as there was a minimum of £55 per head although we probably spent over 300 pounds, including the drinks with the party of three. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Indian food with great service and ambience
Service and food top notch.
Exciting setting. Great location. A little pricey. My go to whenever in London
just a wonderful restaurant.
The food is delicious, succulent traditional, and yet inventive. Enjoyed every bite and it was worth every scent. I was at this restaurant 50 years ago and remembered it. It has changed, I think it's gotten better, more refined, and a bit less spicy! I highly recommend it for a special occasion
This restaurant is truly exceptional.
I have been visiting veeraswamy every time I'm in London for over 25 years. This visit was my best yet. Try the tasting menu and you'll never be disappointed.
Food and cocktails were amazing.
Service was really top notch... specially David! we loved the whole experience of dining in one of the best restaurants in London
Best Indian food I've ever had in the best setting.
I went for dinner 8 years ago for work, and back again a couple of weeks ago with my husband and he was so impressed. We had a great dinner, one of the best we had on our whole 2 week trip to Paris, Amsterdam, and London. 5 stars, worth taking a date or group for a special occasion or just when you want incredible food. No complaints. I also messed up the time of our reservation (booked 10p but meant to book 8p) and they were able to accommodate us at the time we showed up. Really appreciated that since we had plans for the other evenings we were in London and wouldn't have been able to eat here this trip if they wouldn't have been able to fit us in.

Having just landed from a red-eye flight from San Francisco, the first thing I needed to do is to find a great place for dinner. All of my friends told me that London has the best Indian food and one of my colleagues recommended Veeraswamy. I didn't have reservations but they were able to take me at 5:30 pm. The signage is a little inconspicuous and I almost missed it. The host welcomed me by saying "This is the best Indian restaurant in the world. We are not going to disappoint." They quickly sat me down and handed me the food and drinks menus. I saw that they had a four course tasting menu and that's almost an automatic thing for me to order. For my non-alcoholic drink, I chose the classic mango lassi. The tasting menu started with an amuse - a really small cup of fragrant Mulligatawny soup. That was just amazing and I knew that this was a great choice for my first dinner in London. The appetizers included a Tiger Prawn and Chicken Tikka Masala - both were just excellent and full of different flavors. The main course was four different curries (lobster, chicken, lamb and pineapple) with some naan and their tomato rice. I was just blown away by the different curries. My favorite was the lobster curry and I couldn't stop dipping my naan in it. I am just stunned by all the flavors from the various curries and the balance accomplished in each dish. Indian food in the US doesn't come close. Dessert was chocolate ganache - not particularly Indian but it was definitely a Michelin-level dish. The mango lassi was very tasty as well. Service was just excellent and the meal cost me about 95 pounds. The best part is that I didn't have to pay all sorts of fees and gratuity like in SF. The dining room was elegant and it's the type of anachronistic ambiance that I really enjoy. This was definitely a Michelin star dining experience. Highly, highly recommended.
Very good
This was possibly the best Indian food we, as a group of four have ever eaten. We chose four different starters from soup to scallops and again different mains including duck and lamb biryani. Everything was flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The selection of wines was great and we opted for the Lebanese red, truly delicious. The restaurant is sumptuous and elegant without feeling formal and stuffy. From the friendly welcome by the doorman to the last farewell we were treated politely and professionally. My only criticism is that the waiters didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu, the ingredients or methods of cooking. When I asked the waiter to explain a particular dish he merely re-read what was printed on the menu.....Still, this will not put me off going back. A genuinely good find albeit a bit on the pricey side (minimum spend of £55 per person plus 15% service charge.) Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
Absolutely fantastic.
Tucked away and hidden upstairs, it feels like a little secret when the elevator opens to the gorgeous dining area. Everything was beautiful, the service was impeccable, and the food was second to none. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings and it was a great experience. They paced the meal well and everything was delicious. We dressed up for a date, but several people were casual in jeans. We were just visiting the area, but I can see this being a place we hit every time we are in London!

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
