A great private stay in a phenomenal location!
I came to stay at the Waldorf Astoria in Chicago's Gold Coast district during a visit of my daughter who is in college in Chicago. It's conveniently located right off of Michigan Avenue and has plenty of great restaurants and shopping establishments near it. Not only was the state overall comfortable, the king room came with a fireplace And sizable bathroom. The staff was as friendly and helpful as you would expect from a WA hotel and the restaurants on site both the Brass Tack for food and Bernards were phenomenal for cocktails and drinks. I will come back and stay in Chicago.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Service!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for our 3 year anniversary and had a wonderful time at the Waldorf! Deandre checked us in and was very polite and helpful! Our room was decorated with flowers and a Waldorf teddy bear! Our room was very clean and had a great atmosphere. Thank you Waldorf staff for making our stay so special!

Thereโs not one detail that this Waldorf site misses! Check in with super friendly staff. While you wait, warm wash clothes are handed out to everyone in the party - very nice touch! Our two queen bed room was super spacious for a city hotel. Brass Tack was a lovely place to have a quick bite after check in, but service was a bit slow so let them know if you are on a time constraint. Definitely recommend logging into American Express Finer Hotels if you have the card - our room was on a 50% off special this week. Would stay her again irregardless - they definitely make their guests feel special.

This is one of the best hotel stays I've stayed in ever. I travel a lot and will generally stay with a Hilton property for the loyalty program. They recognized my status, I got all the perks and felt a personal touch. Shout out to Ramona at Guest Services.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful stay in the Gold Coast
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was extra clean and everyone we encountered was super friendly. Like they say โyou get what you pay forโ. We got room service which was good. The area feels safe. We opted to park across the street as it was (only) $54 a day. We walked from the hotel down to the river and also went to the lake. As well as some nice places to eat. Everywhere we went seemed like an easy walk as you can enjoy the architecture. They do have a house car that will take you anywhere within a mile but we never ended up needing it. Nice option though. Would definitely stay again. The room was modern and not outdated. But what do you expect from a Waldorf.
Be the first to ReplyYou might want to think twice about using Valet Parking.
All aspects of the hotel were exceptional, with the exception of the valet parking service. It arrived around 5:00 p.m. today, which is abysmally poor service from these individuals. Beyond belief!!! They find the hotel's proprietors to be disgraceful.

We came for a couple days over spring break with the kids, 7 and 3 years old. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. Even at the spa where we used the lap pool for the kids. They brought up a little tee-pee to the suite with coloring books and crayons. They also had a service car that dropped us at our dinner reservation down the street. The room service was delicious as well!! Very pleased with our decision to stay at the Waldorf.

Top of my list hotel! The staff are always the best and the amenities are wonderful! Rooms are gorgeous and top tier! I come for a staycation all the time and Iโm never disappointed. Food is delicious at Brasstack their in house restaurant, and service is amazing! 10/10
Be the first to ReplyBest stay Iโve had in Chicago
Iโve stayed in a lot of different hotels in and around the Chicago area, at all levels, and this one easily topped all of them. Comfortable beds, elegant lobby, fantastic workout facilities and spa, and everything was always very clean and smelled wonderful. But the absolute best part was the staff. To a person they were friendly and helpful, and made you feel like they were glad to have you there. I will definitely be staying at the Waldorf again!

Staff at The Chicago Waldorf Astoria are top notch. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms are a good size and spacious. I was in Chicago for a funeral and they left me a teddy bear in the room with their condolences. Will stay here again when in the city.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful, Elegant Hotel with Impeccable Service!
This is a beautiful, elegant hotel at a great location. The suites are spotless, and the beds and pillows were divine. We arrived early from a red eye flight and was warmly welcomed with a smile. The service is just impeccable! Special shout out to Kyle, our personal concierge, as well as the front desk lady that checked us in, for making our stay so memorable!

As a frequent traveler who has been fortunate enough to stay at a good selection of luxury hotels (including other Waldorf Astoriaโs)โฆthis hotel does not disappoint. Beautiful accommodations, wonderful staff, and all around great experience. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyBest luxury hotel in the city.
We are here for a long weekend and could not be more pleased with the hotel, our room and the service. When I told them weโd be arriving with our toddler, they left a lovely kid friendly surprise for her in our room which delighted her. Iโve stayed in all the top 5 luxury hotels in Chicago and the rest are lovely but feel predictable. The Waldorf is my favorite as it is luxury with modern glamour, privacy and impeccable service.

The check in attendee gave a personal approach that made me feel safe and appreciated. I love the text update feature the communication has been great. The turn down staff and cleaning staff were also very kind and respectful. I will definitely share with my peers and Leadership team. Thank you DeAndre and Mary Beth, I hope to see you soon.

The Waldorf Astoria Chicago is where luxury marries unparalleled service. From the moment you step foot in this opulent marble white lobby accented in emerald green, you're greeted with smiles and helpful staff. The attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel's design is lavish and over the top. The service at the Waldorf Astoria is extraordinary. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest's needs are exceeded. Whether it's arranging transportation or providing recommendations for the best dining options in the area, the staff's dedication to hospitality is unmatched. My junior suite was beautiful. It had a fireplace which was a standout and rare feature. Every corner of the Waldorf Astoria exudes elegance and charm! I absolutely loved my stay.

We arrived very early at about 9:30am and Evan greeted us in the lobby with a warm smile and even warmer scented hand towels; we had no issues with an early checkin. Extra special thanks to Cassandra and Leonard behind the bar at Brass Tack, James our server and Alicia our hostess multiple times. Those restaurant team members are wonderful and incredibly personable. At Bernardโs another shoutout to Chase for great cocktails and conversation. Truly, every staff member we encountered made us feel special. This is why we call the Waldorf Chicago โHeaven on Waltonโ. Thank you again, Evan, for the Waldorf Chicago teddy bear!
Be the first to ReplyBest 5 star hotel in Chicago
Hands down the best 5 star hotel in Chicago! From the moment you walk in till the moment you leave ever need is taken care of. The beautiful rooms have the biggest tubs of any hotel in Chicago. The incredible staff genuinely cares about making sure your stay is perfect. They think of everything from the wonderful spa to the very convenient house car to take you to anywhere you need to go. I have stayed at every five star hotel in the city and can say without a doubt there is no reason to choose anywhere other than the Waldorf.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
What a disappointment! My wife and I spent a long weekend in a suite here, hoping for a relaxing spa getaway, but the lack of amenities and poor service made it seem more like a three-star hotel than a five-star. No major disasters, but lots of little disappointments and inconveniences. It just felt like the hotel was cutting every corner it could (perhaps to save money?). I can't remember the last time I checked out of a luxury hotel feeling so let down.

This is a luxury hotel from your first step in and all the way through. Well trained staff and knowledgable concierge that made our stay and the city experience 10 notch better. This is not you average luxury hotel, this is for those who are looking for personal touch and service. I live it and will be back for sure.

Love the Waldorf, 2nd stay here and booked my 3rd already. The staff and hotel are amazing and exceeded my expectation. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are amazing and they have good water pressure. Would highly recommend the stay. Make sure you stop in for the spa, it is one of the best I have experienced. The location is right in the middle of all the great shops.

We love staying at the Waldorf in Chicago as it never disappoints. It is always a great experience of top notch service. The location is amazing and truly every member of the staff is incredible. One of our favorite hotels world wide! Thank you for the repeated experience!!
Be the first to ReplyExtremely poor customer service in booking
Booked a room for October and I have had the hardest time with emailing back and forth that I finally just canceled it. I had started with an email to the hotel asking 3-4 questions about the hotel and things nearby. I got a response a few days later telling me someone else would be in touch. LOL. Then I get a another email from that someone else and they ask me what they can help with. I guess they never read the first email. I explained once again my questions and about 2 days later I get response. The only thing in the response answers one question about the spa and includes a brochure. I didn't need a brochure. I had already asked for a specific service. 2-3 more emails back and forth and Vanessa asks me to send back a credit card authorization form to book the reservation. vanessa emailed me 3-4 times total and each time spelled my name wrong, as well as didn't respond back very quickly. Well...... fast forward to this past weekend and I called the spa to confirm my reservation. They had nothing booked. At that point it was time to cancel. Cancel the room and cancel the spa. I had booked room and spa appointments totaling quite a bit of money and have finally had enough of the poor service. I called the GM and left a voicemail to them know the issues I had. There is no reason to stay here if you have the expectation of very high service. We will be staying elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyNice hotel, very disappointed with the service on our first stay
While the hotel itself is nice, we will not be returning due to issues with service including: 1. Checked in to find our fireplace did not work. Had to wait for someone to look at it and tell us it was broken. Expected to be moved to another room but were told to wait for a phone call, which never came. 2. We had asked to have our sofa bed made up for the kids while we were at dinner. Returned late from eating with tired kids and that had not been done either. 3. Due to above two issues I had to go to the front desk and we were moved to another (bigger) room which was nice, but still not ideal late at night with tired kids. I was told a hotel director would call the next day to compensate us for all of this, that call never came. 4. Letter we were given at check in stated there would be a welcome gift as part of AmEx rewards (usually a bottle of wine), we never received one. 5. Due to a small fire earlier in the week (out of management's control and understandable) the pool was closed when we arrived Friday and gym closed the entire weekend. Our main issue with this is that we were not informed of this at check in. Instead you can get changed early in the morning to work out or get your kids in their swimsuit and head down to that floor and see a sign saying it is closed. Overall, better communication would have made our stay much more enjoyable . There are many luxury hotel choices in Chicago, we have stayed at several others, and have had much better experiences elsewhere. Sad to say we will not be returning.
Be the first to ReplyAvoid hotel if you want good service
I am a diamond member and had to cancel my reservation due to a family emergency. Because it was 36 hours and not 48 hours ahead of my stay, they charged me. The front desk was very, very rude and did not care about my situation. Warning when booking.
Be the first to Reply1000/10 would recommend
The Waldorf is a 1000/10. I completely loved my stay! Letโs first start off with the front desk. Sergio and Sumaiyah helped with a smooth and easy check-in. The bags were delivered to our room and the room was clean, meeting my expectations. The concierge, Ben, was very knowledgeable about the property and answered all of my questions. For dinner, we decided to go downstairs to the restaurant located on the 3rd floor. We were late getting there as they were about to close soon but was still greeted with spectacular service. Towards the end of our dinner, I wanted another drink but saw that the bar was closing. Maya, the bartender still offered to make another drink for me, which was the strongest mezcal old fashioned I ever had but it was soooo good. Prepared very well. If you are thinking about staying here, donโt not think twice. I will definitely be staying at the Waldorf again.
