This use to be one of my favorite places to eat in the city - what the heck happened folks? The only solid items were the cocktails, kudos to the bartender; the rest of the meal was - I have no words didn't even bother to take pictures. There
Wonderful service for Sunday brunch

A great spot for a nice team lunch.
Our party trickled in, and the staff were accommodating. The popovers were warm and a nice start to the dining experience. The apps of beef tartare and deviled eggs were excellent - very flavorful. Our party tried several different dishes: - Fried
This place is worth every penny.
We went here today for my husband's birthday and we'll definitely be back. The service was fantastic and the food was beyond excellent. We started with deviled eggs and burrata potatoes. The potatoes were one of the best things I've ev
Best place for a 'fancy' burger in SF.
Great cocktails. Great decor and service. It's been very consistent over the years. This is a safe bet. This is the perfect place for a casual date.
Our birthday dinner was a big disappointment for me.
First time I've ever been served our entree too quickly. I had one sip of wine and my pork entree was served, which was tough. I sent it back and ordered chicken, which was pieces of chicken on a plate. Nothing else on the plate. My partners ste

2nd time we've been there but 1st time to the new location and we loved it. Great staff, fun atmosphere (old hunting club feel) and tasty grub. The fried chicken is awesome. Make sure to request a fresh, warm popover (it's worth the wait).

Just had Lunch at the new location, the staff was new but seemed presorted. Definitely a different ambience, it will grow on me. The food still rocks, popovers and a chicken sandwich. Pure heaven!!

Decided to try the new location, the food was great as expected, same with the service. The vibe was the same as original but a little more relaxed. A true classic SF restaurant. I ordered a nourishing nectar cocktail made with gin & honey from B
Run don't walk to this new location! Food is fabulous.
Service is kind, helpful and very efficient. Pricing was very fair. All round a great experience! And outside seating.

Just want to save anyone that's thinking on selecting the 44oz ribeye for 195$. I advise not to get it. Definitely got ripped off. They threw literally a whole handful of baby spinach leafs on top to cover the steak. It was very small and came o

Finally got to try the new location! My team and I came for a weekday dinner and it decently busy. This location felt a bit more cramped than its previous spot but food and service was still good. The burger or fried chicken are always solid choice

Wayfare Tavern never disappoints--outstanding food, warm atmosphere, and top-notch service. Huge shoutout to Cornelius for making the experience unforgettable!
The old location was substantially better.
First we were a party of 4 3 adults and 1 child, they sat us in the bar section where there was 3 seats and jammed a high chair in between us so it started off as a bad experience from the jump. I swear by this burger as it was at one point the best
Terrific
Greeting was wonderful with the hostess cheerful greeting and sincere concern for my allergy. Perfect setting in the booths near the open kitchen. Elegant and interesting. Server a bit pretentious but efficient. Assistant servers were amazing. Food
New Financial District location. Excellent all around.
Again, this review is for the new Pine Street location ( as of Summer 2025). The atmosphere is wonderful. Both warm and elegant. The service excellent from the server to the bus persons to the actual Bar man bringing drinks to the table and presented
The New Location
This was my first time dining at the new location on Pine Street. I like the new decor. I was informed there were private dining rooms upstairs. The food was great as usual. I had the clam chowder and chicken sandwich. I loved the shoestring fries. S

Wayfare Tavern - go there!
Date night at the Wayfare Tavern. Everything from beginning to end was really solid. All of our dishes were very very good! Our server was a little more formal, but did a really nice job and warmed up to us by the end of the evening. And who knew
Always satisfying
Always a friendly welcome. Upstairs seating, menu waiting. Waiter and water and what a read. Great cocktails, and what delicious offerings. Tartare split, what a treat. Fat boy heaven. Delicious chicken sandwich, huge and so tasty. The salmon was so
Decent food doesn’t make up for poor service
The food was fairly decent but the service was slow and poor. On top of the poor service, the seating was horrible. The restaurant squished us into a banquette with a 25 inch table, my husband is over 6 ft tall and the seating was uncomfortable and c
Great place!
What a space. Bar and some seating on the ground floor, lots more seating upstairs. Very good menu, lots of different protein choices. Excellent cocktails, service was top notch, and the food was delicious. Enjoy!
Fancy and delicious
Fancy restaurant located near Union Square. Warm atmosphere. Food is delicious and not that expensive considering the prices in SF. Hamburger was dope!
