Disappointed
We had heard about this restaurant and looked forward to a special night out. The 4 course meal with matching wines was very ordinary and the size of the plates was ridiculous. the matching wines took longer for the wine waiter to describe than to drink! We all went home disappointed and hungry. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The best thing was the view!!
Be the first to ReplyHave long been wanting to have the Wildflower experience.
Booked this Sat night from London- we didn't want to miss out. We had the delicious delectable 8 Course Degustation. Nothing disappointed. The staff. The wines. And of course the food. It's a happy surprise when you think you can pick your favorites off the menu before eating anything but by the end of the evening your top 3 courses are completely the opposite. Taste & texture revelations
Be the first to ReplyVery expensive for what you get
Beautiful restaurant with amazing views. We got off to a bad start when I was served 1/2 glass of champagne for $26! I should have suggested the waitress fill it up but I didn't want to put a downer on the night off the bat! Yes the food was very tasty on the whole but the portions were so small. You could fit the whole meal on one plate. I now see that the bread and butter (delicious) is a filler. The other thing that didn't quite gel with me was the way in which the meals were presented. The staff explained each dish as if they were totally scripted and so fast that we missed much of it. A menu left with us with a description of each dish would have been great. Maybe I was expecting something more given the rave reviews. It was nice but for $400+ dollars I want more than nice.

This must be one of the best restaurants in Perth. It is fine dining and really worth it for a special occasion. Service is exceptional and the food was amazing.
Be the first to ReplyWe weren’t disappointed
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 Course dining experience at Wildflower for our special occasion. The food was absolutely sensational, the staff were extremely attentive and knowledgeable and the setting completed a wonderful evening. A big thank you to the Team at Wildflower
Be the first to ReplyStyle, but lacking in substance
Maybe my hopes were set too high due to the chef's hats. Maybe it is unfair to visit Wildflower after dinning at Saint Peter in Sydney, Elska in Brisbane and Botanic in Adelaide. But I was dissapointed. First, dissapointed by the fact that a Pescatarian 6 courses menu replaces the Lamb dish with a Carrots dish. Too much to ask for another seafood dish? For 175 AUD a small piece of fish and slivers of a scallop, and then lots of vegetables don't cut it. Then, dissapointed by the service, which although knowledgeable and friendly, took two hours to serve 6 plates, with gaps of up to 25 minutes between some dishes. If Botanic had the same service, their 23 dishes might take a whole day to serve. Finally, dissapointed by the food. The flavors were OK, but uninspiring, nothing I would award. The presentation was good though. More style than substance. Also, the portions: if we did not have a second serving of the bread, I'd have to get more food after leaving.
Be the first to ReplyTiny portions, below average food, preferential treatment, forgotten allergy. TY NEXT
Used to be good but the food on the current menu is very disappointing. Bread sourced from elsewhere (Miller & Baker) and not made in-house. Goldband snapper was overcooked and dry to the point it was unpleasant to swallow. Was initially offered the fish to be done again but the waitress kept quiet afterwards. Lamb was very rare and gamey - did not eat this and my partner ate it. Flavours did not pair well and were in disharmony - very “interesting” to say it politely. The only course which was good was the duck terrine which was a substitute of the beetroot course. Overall Tiny portions. A banana palate cleanser is considered a course in its six courses. Preferential service and treatment: table next to us was asked how their courses were etc but we were not asked once at all and had to give our own feedback when it was clear that we weren’t enjoying the courses. Beetroot allergy forgotten and a petit four containing beetroot was still served at the end. $30 taken off the bill because of the fish but birthday celebration ruined. For $175pp (six courses) expected much better. The current menu is the worst fine dining I’ve had to date. Paired with the abysmal service received, such a shame. Wildflower isn’t what it used to be anymore. Thank you, next!
Be the first to ReplyExceptional in every aspect - A must dining experience when in Perth
The ambiance, food, drinks and service was exceptional. Attention to detail was outstanding. Waiters were able to summaries all the ingredients in the meals and drinks. We chose the degustation meal with matching non-alcoholic beverages....amazing.

Had a great time visiting the wildflower season up north, in our caravan Lesson Learnt check caravan parks out and what your site will be like
Be the first to ReplyGods degustation menu
On the rooftop of the Como hotel (4th floor) is this modern restaurant serving degustation menu from 2 to 6 course for lunch. Popular with the locals to entertain guests or social function and reservations is a must. With an open kitchen and contemporary furnishings is also a modern menu. We chose the 2 course, consisting the octopus as the starter and ocean fish from Albany. Taste was original and good. Price is on the high end and service is prompt and well trained to explain the courses.

Always wanted to have the experience of dining here
It lived up to all expectations and surpassed them
Exceptional service
Exceptional food, we had the 4 course menu
Fabulous view
Worth every penny
Save your money
I booked a table for six for wildflower on the 22nd of February for my birthday and it was one of the worst dining experiences of my life.
I’m not a petty person that will write a bad review I’d prefer just not to go back to the that particular place but for this experience I must as it was horrendous. The easiest way for me to do this is by listing all the issues we came across.
1. The lady taking our drinks order took two of our orders at the start then disappeared without saying why whilst taking the cocktail menu and came back 10 minutes later asking if the rest of us were ready to make our orders for drinks. The two girls at the table had to google the bar menu to choose a cocktail. She also didn’t pour one of us water until we asked twice which was 30 minutes after the first time we asked. Obviously we could of poured our own water but the bottle gets taken away after the original pour which she missed one glass.
2. My friend at the end of the table got given the incorrect Beer which he decided not to complain about as in his own words ‘The way the service has been theres no point’ and upon inspection of the reciept after we left we were charged for it. As there is a time limit of 1 hour 50 mins we were rushed out we didn’t have time to check as we were asked to leave the restaurant.
3. This one is a small one but the lady who took our drink order asked if we would like some more bread I said yes. During the dessert course which was close to an hour later she came back and said sorry i forgot your bread did u still want it. Pretty embarrassing for a high end place like this.
4. I’m going to be fair and say two of the courses the main and the Dessert were great(definately not enough to save the night or the rating but very good). The heirloom tomato course was good until your find ice in the curd. I don’t know if it’s meant to be that way but 4 of us including me had small shards of ice in the curd which made the dish a weird texture. The cured snapper was good for 5 of us but one of the girls who ate only a single bite didn’t finish it as there was an hair that looked like an eyelash on the plate. She’s wasn’t a massive fan of the dish as she tried her partners but we wanted to test out to see if the waitress would ask why she barely touched it. Firstly she came around as asked did everyone like that? The person that had the hair said No and that was that no further question no follow up. We found this hilarious but really it’s kind of in acceptable.
Anyway you may find these reasons petty but I feel like I have to warn people who, like myself was expecting to be dazzled, to lower your expectations and check your reciept!
A great Degustation - best lamb ever
Was a little difficult to find the entrance lift at first - perhaps a notice in the foyer might assist?
The Degustation meal was excellent. We only had the four-course option, but the food experience was so good that I now wished I had extended to the extra two courses. Didn't have matching wines, but enjoyed the two glasses of wine. However, one wine choice wasn't available.
My partner was able to change one of the courses to something that she could handle, and it too was a fantastic offering.
The lamb course was outstanding - I have heard folks talk about meat cutting like butter, but this lamb actually did so. All courses were intriguing, with gentle but obvious touches from the Australian bush.
Good service, but as others have noted, it's difficult to hear the staff's food explanations through their masks. Perhaps they could speak up a bit more?
Definitely recommended for that special dining out experience.
Lovely restaurant, but could be better service
Food fab and right amount (6 course degustation), catered well for coeliac in our party of 8, did not do pairings (based on advice) and happy we chose our own wines.
Worth the $168/head, but service was a bit lacking.
Also, couldn’t hear the waiters tell us about the food, which was a shame, as is reason you go to Wildflower.
Never to return
Degustation meal sizes were too large.
Venue was difficult to find and promised views were limited and unimpressive.
Temperature was uncomfortably cold - one patron had to ask for a blanket.
Drinks charges were overpriced. $20 for sparkling water and the glasses kept getting topped up with tap water!
Charged for using a credit card - charge wasn’t on the receipt and only noticed it on bank statement. We used a Visa debit!
Very special night
Birthday celebration and could not have selected a better place.
Meaning to go for so long.
Has the wow factor when you exit the lift into the restaurant.
The service was impeccable and 6 course menu was delicious.
Did not go for the wine pairing but had some exceptional wine and rums.
Really enjoyed all the dishes especially the desserts.
Thanks for making this a wonderful experience.
Made my year
Elegant space, with excellent, innovative and creative foods that taste out of this world which were complex and revealing, yet the place is easy-going, with staff who are kind and helpful. The non-alcoholic cocktails were delightful. The 3 course $89 lunch is very good value and ample in servings. A great experience!
Be the first to ReplyBest restaurant in Australia?
I know, I know, sounds like hyperbole, but on our way out I said to the wife, “you know what, that might just be the best restaurant experience I’ve had in Australia”.
I was half joking at the time, although the dinner had been excellent, and then the more I thought about it I realised that actually I may not have been too far off the mark.
I don’t usually name drop restaurants, but we’ve done a few of the good ones in Australia. Quay, Attica, Brae, Momofuku (both iterations), Sepia, Guillaume’s (the Paddington one), Rockpool (before the makeover), and Sixpenny. In WA we’ve done Millbrook, all the “fancy” ones in Margaret River (except Yarri in the Coles car park), and most of the fine diners in Perth.
And Wildflower more than matches all of them.
One and only complaint is the lift needed to reach the restaurant. It’s beautiful, but old and slow and services the hotels.
The dining room is beautiful. Understated view of the CBD and out over the Swan River. Elegant, but modern. Comfortable seating.
Service excellent. Professional, but friendly. All were clearly invested and wanted to deliver a great experience.
I really liked the food. Each dish was a winner. Mod Aus has gotten a little boring, but they have a nice slant on it. Octopus was perfectly cooked, I’d never had lamb belly (delicious), and the duck was outstanding. Even the desserts (we’re not normally a fan) were well put together, tasty, and enjoyable. And the bread! Delicious and they came round offering more without judgement, perfect for soaking up some of the sauces.
My wife is pregnant with our second so we’re both going alcohol free for the gestation (and maybe longer). We were delighted to see Wildflower offer a non-alcoholic pairing. The drinks were fantastic. Being alcohol free actually gives them more scope to match with the food. Each drink was delivered with enthusiasm and pairing notes offered. It wasn’t just an after thought.
Nice, well dressed clientele (I probably let the side down). Can’t guarantee it’ll be convivial for your visit of course.
Honestly wonderful experience and quite the surprise if truth be told.
Perfect Birthday Lunch
If you are looking for a dining experience to remember this is a must, the staff serving us were very knowledgeable and friendly, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and delicious cocktails. Look forward to trying the next seasons menu.
