Cute interior, fun cookery playing with "traditional" Tiki bar cuisine. The exterior is very skinny so you might miss it walking by. Delish food. Kind and efficient people here. I recommend!
Be the first to Replyfood was good and staff were friendly.
i came with a large group and they were quite accommodating. my personal favorites were the mapo tofu and the szechuan beef.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambience and good drinks.
I was not impressed with the food, though. The short rib lo mein was downright bad--flavorless noodles smothered in gravy with very little meat. That dish was a major disappointment, and if I recall correctly it's among the most expensive on the menu. I tasted the pork belly that someone else in my party ordered. That was much better, but a little bland. I also tasted the mushroom mapo tofu and the kimchi fried rice. Everything but the short rib lo mein was okay. Nothing was great. Next time I will probably go with just appetizers and drinks.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Dan Dan noodles! Fancy smoked cocktails.
Had a great spontaneous lunch date with wife.

I've been to wusong road twice, after being enchanted the first time I went. GET A RESERVATION. We tried going in on a Tuesday at 5:30 and they didn't have seats until 11:30. Drinks are so fun and worth the money. They don't skimp on the liquor and I love the fun cups that they come in! Visiting just for the drinks alone is worth it. The food is an extra level of amazing. ABSOLUTELY order the bao. I thought the broccolini was yum but a little expensive, and the chicken was incredible. Dumplings pan fried were also yum and an interesting flavor (I want to say it had maple but honestly I was pretty far into my drink by then). Service was kind and fast. I think this would be a really fun date spot or special event location!

I always come here for a fun time with my friends!! The fun little drinks, the tiki/campy vibes, and all the servers are wicked nice!! 10/10
Be the first to ReplyBest (somewhat hidden) gem off Harvard square.
I like how they don't have a freezer in the restaurant so everything is fresh. Seems like the owner really cares about the dumpling process and quality. Mai tai is very good. Zombie is trouble. Spring rolls were fresh. Noodles were tasty. Restrooms were very clean.

Great veggie options! Corn rangoons and chili haricot verts (green beans) are to die for!
Be the first to ReplyLove this place.
Look forward to coming back. Wish they would open a location in NYC.
Be the first to Replyi've been to wusong many times in the past year.
the decor is fun and kitschy, totally embracing the tiki bar atmosphere. the menu has changed about three times in the past year. for some that may be refreshing, an opportunity to try something new. for others it may mean that their favorites are no longer available. the star of the menu is absolutely their cocktails. however, i wish there was more variety. the constant however is their subpar service. it's very slow. on a busy saturday it's understandable, but sometimes there are only a handful of tables and we're having to hunt someone down for service. additionally, something always seems to go wrong. whether it's our server forgetting to put our order in before the kitchen closed, not ringing in our drinks as we sit waiting for 20 minutes, or charging us for something that we did not order. i am hoping that the service improves because it is a fun spot for drinks and a quick bite!

Who doesn't live for date nights? The two of us were super excited because we get very few of them with two toddlers at home. On a Saturday night, we wanted to just experience something DIFFERENT! Wusong Road fit that category, and away we went to good ol' Harvahd...Dark and a bit mythical is the way I would describe it as you enter WR. I knew right away I was going to enjoy just how unique the entire dining scene was going to be. There is an upstairs and downstairs, both look very similar and there are also front and back stairs to utilize. Tchotchkes, did someone say tchotchkes? MY SENSES ARE OVERWHELMED. We were fortunate, never making reservations (duh, why didn't I think of this?) but ran into literally the last two seats in the place not taken by other future diners. They were at the bar but on a kid-less night, I was smitten with the choice that I hadn't even thought about for years. If the Cambridge eye candy of young and hip professionals everywhere isn't enough, then you have fun straw lights to stair at, or every tiki cup invented under the sun to gawk over. As we settled into the bar, our server was quick to offer us menus and take our drink order. Strangely, I can't find the name of the drink from an online menu, so all I can say here the lowball glass concoction with a hibiscus flower floating on top was a bit sour and not as balanced as I would like, but definitely packed a punch.Chowing on other Harvard goodies earlier, we decided to do sharable apps and sample as much as we could handle. Giving us enough time to look everything over, we opted for the festive St. Patty's baos of fried chicken and pulled pork, Scallion Beef Roll-Up and Slaw Salad. The pulled pork bao was my least favorite of the night. It had a bunch of those bits that get stuck to the side of a pan when you're keeping it hot and it just ends up drying out after the smoke process is over, bummer. The fried chicken bao definitely made up for it and was a tiny snack of perfection. I'd get the Beef Roll-Up everytime I returned, exactly what I'm looking for when paired with drinks, wow. The slaw salad broke up the heaviness of the other two protein dishes and was another I'd probably get again, although nothing mindblowing ingredients wise. After some neighbor food-envy, I'm really mad at myself for not giving the Dan Dan Noodles a go. Not much more you can ask for from a throwback that knocks it out of the park. My expectations are high here, it's a PERFECT date night spot but we won't have many opportunities to return. If I lived in the area, I could see myself coming here 2-3 times a year at minimum when I was 25. It's just a fun place to be and has an outstanding vibe, statues and all. Great job to the team in Cambridge attempting to reinvigorate a dining scene post-COVID. A tiny bit of better food execution is all I needed.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and drinks.
Clearly marked gf items. Nice staff. Feels like you're on vacation when you're there.
Be the first to ReplyWow! I'm really impressed with this place for the overall
Wow! I'm really impressed with this place for the overall experience. I've never been to a tiki bar so I really enjoyed the ambiance. I wish I was hungrier so I could try more things. But what I got was really good! We had the brussel sprouts which were cooked to perfection. The sauce is a little bit sweeter than I'd like but still good. The roll ups (forgot the actual name on the menu) were good though it lacked a bit of flavor inside. I really enjoyed the baos, especially the one with the chicken. I appreciated how cute it was. The cauliflower was great. As a teetotaler I opted for a Manila margarita which I thoroughly enjoyed and was glad they had that as a mocktail option. I don't live in Boston anymore and this place opened since I left but I'll certainly wanna come back when I'm in town and also be recommending it to others! Service was really good also.

i'm absolutely obsessed with wusong road!! my friends and i loved every dish and drink we got. we got the saturn, pina colada, painkiller and manilla margarita for drinks. for food, we got the wusong baos and the lu roa fan (braised pork belly, rice, carrot, cucumber, daikon and a soy egg). you truly cannot go wrong with any dish/drink at wusong road. all the food items are $8.88-$16, so extremely worth it. also, the portion sizes are generous. the vibes of the restaurant are excellent. during the winter time, the food and drinks give you an island-feel, and make you forget about the cold Boston weather haha. customer service is great and checked on us frequently. overall rating: 10/10ps. you can buy their tiki mugs for about $15! (they give you a brand new one)
Be the first to ReplyI've been here 7 or 8 times already.
I love it. Is it perfect, unfortunately not. But I love Tiki Bars and their prices are very reasonable so I have to give them five stars. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR HOW I DO MY RATINGS. Ambiance 5/5 - This place looks dope. They did a great job with the interior. I used to live in NYC, I've traveled all over the country, and abroad. So I have some perspective here. The place has a fun look. The drinks and cups are well designed. They went all out on christmas decorations too... Which I actually didnt like because they overpowered the tiki vibes but hey it's christmas!Food 5/5 - The food is good and very affordable. You can share with people. I LOVE crab ragoons and unfortunately the ones here are just above average but I still order them every time. Ribs are good. I know my soup dumplings and I ordered them here once... I will never order them again, not good soup dumplings. I ordered the duck twice, one was good and once was not. Drinks 5/5 - The drinks have got a bit more expensive but still very reasonable. They're fun looking and taste good. I think I've tried almost every drink they have. Just come here for drinks one night.Waitstaff 3.5/5 - I've had amazing waiters and some average ones. I think Wusong is still new and hiring new people. I got a new waiter once and we only got one drink during our visit because he didnt check on us. Then told us we had to leave because we hit the time limit.... So that sucked but I also had some really fun, personable waiters too. Overall 5/5 - I love tiki bars. A lot of them do it bad but this one nailed it. My favorite Tiki Bar is dromedary in NYC but this is a close second. Feels high end but has very good prices. My Ranking System:5 stars - I will go out of my way to eat here4 stars - If I am in the area, I will like to eat here3 stars - Not my first option, but if other people want to go here then fine2 stars - I'll eat here only under special circumstances1 star - I rather not go out
Be the first to Reply3.5 starsExcited to come here after hearing great things
3.5 starsExcited to come here after hearing great things about this place, particularly their drinks. We were able to get a reservation for 7 (recommend booking early for larger parties) and were seated in the upstairs second floor area - overall both floors appeared to be nicely decorated though a little dark and hard to see if not directly under a light. Food seemed to be a more unique twist on American-Chinese. We ended up trying a couple of larger plates and several smaller plates - personal favorites included the corn rangoons, taishan fritters, and the brussel sprouts; for something a little more filling the jian bing could be a good option from the smaller plates. Popcorn chicken always a crowd pleaser (hot honey and kung pao ranch were great), would skip the tater tots though as they were nothing special. Wish we had gotten to try some of their specials, but they were out of the calamari. Sadly, our fried pork dumplings were raw inside. We did also try dessert - I'm a sucker for passionfruit in desserts so we tried the malasadas, however I didn't think that the dipping sauce tasted strongly of passionfruit at all and was mostly just milky. Drinks however were great. We appreciated how the menu showed the relative strength levels of the cocktails. I had the manilla margarita, which was sweet and not too alcoholic-tasting. Would go back for the bar and the vibes and some small bites if in the area!
Be the first to ReplyWoo for Wusong Road! We had a marvelous lunch here.
Even during the coldest Boston day, the tiki bar vibe transports you to a tropical place. To drink, I got the Boston Tiki Party, which was nice and refreshing. I like how they indicate each drink's strength on the menu, so you know what you're getting into. The lunch combos come as three metal tins stacked on top of each other, and you then unstack them and open each lid. Love how it's presented! The price is also great at just about $15 per lunch. For my entree, I got the buns (one chicken & one pork), which look like animals and are SO ADORABLE. Not only are they cute, they're also super tasty, so it's not just about appearances here! I also got the crab rangoons, which were nicely filled and crab-flavored. Hubs got the Chinese sausage fried rice, which was a nice portion, along with the pork gyoza, which were nicely filled & flavorful and came with a yummy sauce. The combo also includes a seasonal pastry (ours was a sugary donut hole) and fortune cookie. Despite already having desserts, we had to order the "Cease Desist Whip," which is a dairy-free pineapple softserve. So smooth and refreshing, this is a must for Dole Whip lovers!Overall, such a great time and respite from dreary Boston winter days. Come for lunch for an experience that's both enjoyable AND affordable!

Walking into this place I was super excited due to one, being a surprise dinner from my partner and two, I never been to a restaurant unlike this so I was really excited to spend the night! We came about 5 minutes early before our 8:30PM reservation and we were seated really quickly! Ambiance was amazing, really enjoyed the props and decor. Things kind of started to go downhill until we didn't get our orders taken 45 minutes after being taken for drinks at around 8:40. At around 9:20, the waiter was almost surprised we wanted food? A few minutes after the kitchen closed, no warning 45 minutes prior that if there even was a last minute call for the kitchen and if we wanted anything. Luckily, we got the food we wanted but overall experience was meh. Food was delicious but service can definitely use a little more help.
Be the first to ReplyI accompanied 2 of my friends who had been personally
I accompanied 2 of my friends who had been personally invited back to Wusong Road by Zoë (the service manager) due to a negative prior experience dining there. They went hoping to have a much better experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case.TLDR: Okay food/drinks and nice interior but the evening was marred by the service manager telling us point-blank that this place isn't for us, so we will not be returning in the future.- Korean Corn Dogs: 5/10 - well-fried but uninspiring and lacking in flavor- Shrimp Tacos: 7/10 - fresh, clean-tasting, simple dish- Popcorn Chicken: 7/10 - the saving grace was the 5 sauces- Soup Dumplings: 8/10 - flavorful and succulent- Crying Tiger Brussels Sprouts: 8/10 - one of the better dishes of the evening. HOWEVER, we made it explicitly clear to our server while ordering our food that one of my friends has a peanut allergy. A few minutes later, we were brought Brussels sprouts smothered in a layer of peanuts. He was quick to rectify this, however, prior to us bringing it to his attention. - "Cease and Desist" Whip: 7/10 - refreshing palate cleanser During the meal, we waited, hoping that the manager would come and check-in and elicit any feedback we may have had, especially since she had requested they return only in light of a previous Yelp review detailing their bad experience. She popped by very briefly towards the end of our meal and asked us in passing how the meal was and ran off before engaging in any further conversation.Due to their prior experience, my friends had been given 10 tokens, each covering up to $14 towards food and drinks. Collectively, we ordered a total of 8 drinks, all individually priced under $14, and we then planned on using the remaining 2 tokens to cover some of the food dishes we ordered, which we clearly communicated to our server. The problems began when we asked for the bill. On it, we saw that of the 10 tokens, only 9 were used. These 9 covered only some of the drinks and the cheapest food items. We asked to speak with her to iron out what had happened. She insisted that only one token could be used per person and she was doing us a favor by using more than that. However, we were confused as this had never been communicated to us. In order to prove her point, she read the back of the token, which to her dismay, did not indicate that this was the case. When my friends voiced their frustration over this 2nd experience, she said "I didn't realize you only came back because of the email", when she in fact made our reservation herself after we replied to her email asking us to return. She then curtly stated, "well, maybe this isn't the place for you all then." At this point, we were stunned, after all for the manager who had requested they return to rectify their previous experience to be so rude was uncalled for, especially after we repeatedly stated how much we enjoyed the food/drinks and ambience and only wanted to discuss the inconsistencies with the bill. Ultimately, she snatched the bill from the table, stormed off, and when she returned, slammed it on the table without a single word. At the end of all of it, she still only used 8 tokens and the bill was more than it should have been. At this point, we did not feel the desire to continue investing any more of our time and energy into this and simply paid our bill and left.We did not expect to be told by the service manager of all people that this place isn't for us, especially because we actually had a very pleasant experience until that point. We left feeling disappointed and disrespected, with no plans to ever return in the future.

Place is groovy but the bartenders are cocky turds and they cater to middle aged rich folks who look down on normal people who dig tiki. As usual, it's a tiki bar that only cares to serve their buds. Tiki is dead unless you have an in with their buds. Fuck this place. Go to Mon Kou or Kowloon. Avoid this hipster shithole.

Fantastic new addition to the Cambridge food scene! Was so impressed with the space, well decorated and in such a cool historic building. Service was friendly and fast, food was delicious and plentiful for the price. Drinks were well mixed! We tried the coconut ribs, spring rolls and the Chinese broccoli. Plus the not dole whip...dole whip, yum!
Be the first to ReplyBooked a large party reservation one month in advance for
Booked a large party reservation one month in advance for my birthday dinner. The only slot I could get for 8 people was at 9:30pm, which was a little late but I didn't mind. When we got there we were seated upstairs by the bar on barstools, and the table was half under the light half completely dark. I loved the ambiance of the restraint but out seating was so odd and uncomfortable. The service was pretty abysmal. He took our drink order and didn't come back until around 10:15 to take our food order. When we finally ordered, at 10:30 he put our check on the table before the food even came. When the food came at 10:45, they brought out dessert for me for my birthday at the same time (that my friend asked for to finish the meal). It was clear that we were being rushed but no one had communicated with us to tell us why. Finally they told us we had to eat within 15 minutes because the upstairs closed at 11. What?? If we were informed of this (even at the beginning of the meal) we could have planned things better. Even still, with not taking our food order for 45 minutes, there's no way we could have eaten in time to get out by 11. So why have an appointment slot for 9:30pm? And there was nowhere to indicate upstairs versus downstairs and the time constraints for each. The food was average, there were some hits and some misses. The group liked the Dan Dan noodles, and the Bao buns. The drinks were pretty good as well. We did bring up all of these concerns with management who was nice and responsive to the situation and took appropriate corrective action (after the fact). I may come back just to the bar at some point but the way we were treated by the server left a sour taste in my mouth.

As I trudged through the bitterly cold streets of Cambridge, my heart longed for the warmth of a welcoming hearth and a comforting meal. It was then that I stumbled upon Wusong Road, a restaurant that promised to transport me to a world far removed from the icy chill of New England. As I pushed open the door, I was greeted by the lush greenery and sultry tropical atmosphere that enveloped the space, and my weary bones were instantly enlivened. The drinks at Wusong Road were a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. The intricate layers of colors and flavors in my cocktail danced like fireflies in the sultry night air, and I was entranced by the craftsmanship that went into each creation. The food was equally impressive, with dishes that were both familiar and exotic, expertly prepared and presented with an artistry that was as delightful as it was unexpected. Each bite was a new adventure, a journey to a far-off land that tantalized my taste buds and filled me with a sense of wonder. As I gazed around at the mesmerizing decor that adorned every corner of the restaurant, I marveled at the fact that a place of this caliber could exist in Boston. It was as if I had been transported to a city that was more accustomed to the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles or New York, rather than the humble charm of Cambridge. The experience at Wusong Road was truly a one-of-a-kind adventure, a journey that awakened my senses and filled me with a sense of joy and wonder that I will carry with me always.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot for a date or post work drinks.
The food and drink menus are innovative and fun. The food is also very yummy, portions are small but reasonable.
Be the first to ReplyNot bad, but not amazing.
Got the tamarind wings (gluten free) and they had a okay/nice flavor to it. The house fried rice was just okay. The pickled daikon was just okay too, I didn't really like it because it didn't taste fresh. I did love the ambience inside though. The service was also very good. The servers and hostess were very nice and attentive.
