Delectable treats & excellent food
I was fortunate enough to dine here at the Yi Dian Xin (Dim Sum) by the Imperial Treasures at the Parkway Parade. Very excellent food quality with exceptional culinary skills. I had eaten the following items - 1. Treasure Noodle with pig trotter, beef brisket, wanton and shrimp dumpling 2. Hong Kong style Li Wan congee 3. Siew Mai (pork dumpling) 4. Shrimp Dumping (shrimp dumpling) 5. Hong Kong style Steamed Rice Roll with sesame and sweet sauce 6. Diced Mushroom Dumpling 7. Baked BBQ Pork Pastry 8. Mango Pudding Very springy noodles, and delicious trotter, beef brisket. Li Wan congee is very tasty with cuttlefish. Steamed Rice Roll is very fragrant with the sesame. Loved the diced mushroom dumpling, and the mango pudding is made with concentrated mango puree. Overall, I would give a 9/10 for all the food I had tried. In fact, I had ordered most of the signature dishes. You should come here for a great dim sum meal with some friends.

I like to visit this place for breakfast with my family. They have quite a variety of dim sum to choose from, although not extensive but still enough to satisfy some dim sum cravings! Some of the dishes that we like are the chee cheong fun, har gow, beancurd prawn roll, liu sha bao and century egg and lean meat congee. It is not too expensive so you can still enjoy good dim sum at an affordable price. This is one of my go-to places for dim sum and definitely recommend you to try if you haven't already!
Be the first to ReplyGood dim sum, A little expensive consider the location where the dim sum is at.
There was practically no service provided at all at this stall, everything from the start of ordering has to be done individually. No service staff around. Had to order, pay at the counter and collect when it is ready. The dim sum was good, just felt that the price I paid for should come with some service at least :)

I didn't come here just for the dim sum, the main reason for my visit was to sample the fish soup at the opposite stall. However, since I was here (and I have heard rave reviews about this stall) I decided to give it a shot. I only ordered 3 dishes, because I was already quite full (from the fish soup) but I still wanted to sample something. The fried yam balls, har gow (prawn dumplings) and liu sha bao (salted egg buns) were my three choices and because they were recommended from the menu and staff. The prices were affordable, I spent around $10 on all three dishes and as a snack or teatime treat, they don't disappoint. The yam balls usually are not found in other dim sum stalls, but they surprisingly were fried well, not too oily yet it had a crisp exterior. The taste of the yam was distinct, with minced meat (I would guess pork, although I am not too sure) offered a different texture from the soft yam in the yam balls. The closest possible comparison would be that of a yam ring dish found at most zi char stalls. Easily a two-biter. Not the best dish here, but definitely something interesting to try out. The har gow was pretty good, the prawns used were fresh and had a springy bite to it. A light taste and the dumpling skin was not thick, which meant the har gow's prawn taste was surprisingly strong, but light on the stomach. Not bad, but not amazing either. The last dish was the liu sha bao. The bun was soft and fluffy, my only complaint is that there were only three buns and they were quite small, one-biters like the har gow. The salted egg was lava-like, and was not too rich (I mean I ate all three by myself). If I had more stomach real estate I would have ordered another one. Easily the best dish among the three. Location is rustic and simple, eating dim sum there with a group of friends helps complete the experience and feels like you're transported to a roadside eatery in Hong Kong. However, it can be a little far if you're not driving (about a 10 -15 minutes walk), but when I was there there was no queues and the waiting time was decent (about 10-15 minutes). Overall, a value-for-money offering in the North-East area and I would definitely come back if I was in the area for a light snack with some good company.

Really liked the dim sum. Food is delicious, and cheaper than in dim sum restaurants. My kids also enjoy the food. You must try the Chee Cheong Fun, lotus leaf rice, prawn dumpling (虾饺), carrot cake and 流沙包. Recommended!

We went to the branch at Jalan Teban. We really love the dim sum here. They are of good quality and value for money. Tasty as well. The atmosphere here is comfortable. Will definitely come again!

It had been a while since we patronised this stall. Their food quality had been good and still maintained during out visits. The popular dishes such as har gow, xiao long bao, chives dumpling and somenother dishes ran out pretty quickly so we took the opportunity to try out other dishes. They turned out to be great too. The beancurd skin steamed mushroom dumpling was really delicious. There are only a few cheap-and-good dim sum restaurant these days. Hopefully this can survive for a while.

This place is popular for their salted egg bao. We went there as it near our house and did not expect the taste to be so great! We love the steamed radish cake.. it looks extremely plain but it's full of radish and bacon taste. The fried yam dumpling (芋角) is so tasty! Its crispy on the outside and the yam within is so soft and smooth, the filling is savoury! The "ha Gao" (prawn dumpling).. it's those Hong Kong style with only prawn inside.. unlike any other stalls that will add in pork.. It's really nice! This is totally restaurant standard at hawker price! I won't need to go down town to hotels to have dim sum any more! I only paid $36+ as in the photo below with 2 bowls of Congee. This is a hidden gem in the neighbourhood!

Wanted to have Dim Sum but didn't want to go to town or tourist areas, rather, wanted t find somewhere near home. Well, Yi Dian Xin HK Dim Sum is the place. Fantastic food, dirt cheap prices (if anyone has eaten at a Dim Sum restaurant, then check out the menu and prices in this review). So, we found this fabulous little place, nestled within a little food court on the corner of Upper Serangoon Road and Jalan Rengkam. The lady owner is really nice, very proud of the food they serve and can help you choose in a multitude of languages - English, Singlish, Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese, some Bahasa and Teochew too!. food is fantastic, fast, fresh and cheap. We had extra servings of almost everything because it was really quick and really cheap and tasted so good, we thought, what the hell, eat less for dinner and enjoy here. The local teh-C (Singapore tea with evaporated milk - very good) or koppi (coffee - but made from grounds - also very nice) and every other kind of drink, including beer, is available from the koppi tiam shop - the man will come over, take you orders and deliver - no fuss. Highly recommend this place for a meal any time of day. Fantastic food. Oh, need cash though. no problem though as there are ATMs in both direction up and down the main road so no problem if you run short. go visit, you'll be very happy you did.
