The best bread and breakfast in Miami
The drinks and breads are very delicious, when I return to Miami I want to return. It is a bad idea to go without a reservation because it is always full and the place is not very big. We had an iced late coffee and an iced hibiscus lemodane we loved it. Almond Croissant highly recommended

The menu is great. The food is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is terrific. And of course we bought bread/danish to take home!
Be the first to ReplySo much more than a bakery!
Definitely make a reservation if you are a party of more than one or two. The place is packed, and deservedly so. The food is so fresh, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this unique and high quality bakery and cafe.

We drove from Fort lauderdale in 2 cars and then met up with more family at the restaurant. We waited quite a bit and finally we were seated outside . In two picnic tables . I ordered Iced Hibiscus lemonade and my husband ordered just hibiscus ๐บ tea . Then we ordered challah French toast already smothered in maple syrup. My granddaughter ordered only a lentil soup. We all ate well. But I only have a few pics because I wasnโt sitting with the other family members to take their pics. Long wait . Nice area .

Went to Wynwood to see super blue and weโre searching for a vegan bakeryโฆ zak the baker is not vegan, but they had a few vegan options. The vegan banana bread was pretty tasty. The smashed avocado toast (without the feta) was a savory surprise. I would give 5 stars, but the wait time was long and the somewhat crude atmosphere. I will say the oat milk latte was pretty tasty as well.

A bakery on the Michelin guide, a rather unusual choice, but much appreciated. The place is rather bare, an oven with "visible" production, a rather broad menu to draw on. We chose a classic chocolate biscuit, of excellent workmanship and intense flavours, as well as the very delicate French toast - albeit fried. Coffee to review, but you can't have everything. Fully promoted.

Fantastic find, recommended by a local who happened to be passing and who we stopped for a recommendation. Excellent and very busy bakery, wide range of pastries and also healthy options. Great to sit and watch the bakers at work too!
Be the first to Replyfood is great but service is below zero
Staff is totally not motivated, they are dancing and hanging around. I wish there was a manager then they would start working. Food is good so thats why its so unfair for the kitchen staff.
Be the first to ReplyA great find in Wynwood
A great little find in Wynwood after a trip to the walls. Delicious French toast and we even took some cakes and pastries to go which were also delicious. I highly recommend the French toast and the olive oil cake which may sound slightly strange but itโs amazing!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Brunch Food and Pastries
Loved almost everything! Go early because a line forms very quickly. Had a party of eight and they wonโt put tables together. Also there arenโt any gluten free options and flour is airborne. The breakfast sandwich, breakfast plate, bagel with lox were all fabulous. Not a fan of the mushroom pastry. Took pastries to go and they were fantastic: pain au chocolate, almond croissant, plain croissant, chocolate chip cookie. I will definitely return.

Zak Stern, or Zak the Baker, the owner of the well-known bakery/cafe in Miami, Florida, that bears his name, is a self-taught baker who learned how to make naturally leavened bread and hand-made pastries and creative sandwiches. Now he employs chefs Gonzalo Lanao, Desiree DiFalco and Cleophus Hethington to make his pride and joy into a go-to destination. Located at 405 Northwest 26th Street, a three-minute walk from Wynwood Walls, in the Wynwood neighborhood, Zak the Baker is a laid-back bakery/cafe with a hip vibe that specializes in gourmet house-baked goods and light fare for breakfast and lunch. Open from 7 to 5 Sunday through Friday, it specializes in hand-made pastries, naturally leavened bread, sandwiches, soups, salads, bagels and spreads, flourless dark chocolate cookies, sourdough whole wheat sandwich bread, Challah sandwich bread and whole wheat sourdough loaf. Walk up to the breakfast sandwich with a cheddar cheese omelette, alfalfa sprouts, avocado and tomato on toasted sourdough country wheat bread. For lunch, start with jam and butter, a toasted demi baguette with strawberry jam and salted butter. I recommend two sandwiches: the tuna melt with house tuna salad, fresh terragon, cranberries and sharp cheddar, hot pressed on sourdough country wheat bread and the Salmon Reuben with salmon, sauerkraut, 1,000 Island dressing and Swiss cheese, hot pressed on sourdough Jewish rye bread. With a bowl of vegetable soup with toasted baguettes. Another sandwich to consider is Zak's version of the BLT with salmon, bacon, lettuce and tomato stuffed into a flaky croissant.

Cool place with a great vibe. The front of house is ver friendly and welcoming - the service staff seems stressed. The bread is good but nothing extraordinary - dishes seems to be a bit overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyIt's ok!
Well what can I say , I really expected more after a 40 minute wait , and a michelin star. I had a nice breakfast plate , with the salmon strip which was interesting. My daughter loves the food there , my husband was satisfied but not thrilled. Overall it was ok. Tried it , liked it but it won't something I would run to again.
Be the first to ReplyI don't know what the fuss is all about; Skimpy plates, Mediocre service and food, and way overpriced
We came with our friends who visited the place before and had a good experience. We Waited over half an hour for a table for 6 and finally settled on a table for 2 and a table for 4. We waited another 10 min to place our orders and additional 15 to get our food. The looks, quantity and food were very disappointing. Breakfast plates were overpriced and almost empty, Disappointing! ... Breakfast platter included two eggs, Uneatable "salmon bacon" that was saturated with salt that went straight into the trash, ONE (two halves) slice of bread, and a skimpy spoon of avocado. Not only the price was high, the plate looked mostly empty! Sorry, there was also a bowl of Polenta that was not very appetizing nor did it fit with the rest of the food. The service was mediocre but a 20% service charge was automatically added to your bill, so there is no effort required from any of the servers. The only good part was the croissant that was one of the bes I've had on a long time Overall, overpriced and surely does not live up to the hype; I suppose it is not too bad for coffee and pastry on the go... Our friend complained to management (who did nothing to make up for the uneatable Salmon bacon) and apologized to us for such a bad experience.
Be the first to ReplyBest Breakfast Sandwich ever
Honestly the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. Daughter concurs....wow! The brioche bun was so light and airy combined with a healthy layered egg folded over guyere and topped with delicous salm-bacon!
Be the first to ReplyBright, popular cafe
Popular brunch spot in Wynwood known for breads/pastries. Came here on a Sunday around noon and we were a group of 6. We waited for an hour and there was a steady line of people waiting for takeout and dine-in (thereโs separate lines). A friend highly recommended this place and judging by the number of people, a lot of others also seem to like this spot. They send you a text when your table is ready. Credit cards accepted. We got a slice of the banana bread to split and it was a chunky piece. I got the salmon rilette which had an interesting flavor profile. The bread was hearty and I did finish that, but not the rilette. The breakfast sandwich came with a salmon strip rather than bacon, which was a choice. The tuna melt was yummy.

Salmon-bacon, egg and cheese breakfast would be my go-to everyday if I lived here! I do wish there were some soft surfaces to reduce the volume inside the restaurant.

Freshly baked breads, bagels, chocolate babka and a large assortment of pastries and croissants. Freshly made salads that are so delicious. Everything is so delicious and heart warming.
