Zuma New York Reviews from The Last Year
Zuma is an incredible restaurant first of all the
Zuma is an incredible restaurant first of all the atmosphere of this restaurant is out of this world. It has a very elegant feeling to it. The lighting is perfect and it really helps set the mood for when you're about to eat. the food itself is incredible you could tell it's very high-quality very fresh and that they hire a very professional team of chefs for what they're making, what's funny is me and my girlfriend went here on a date and when we were reading the menu and in the restaurant we were thinking like oh this is just going to be like Nobu and honestly we didn't even like Nobu. We thought Nobu was overpriced and not that good however, this place blew it out of the water and was such an exceptional restaurant. We would come back here again the staff is incredibly nice. The serving sizes are just right the dessert is out of this world. This restaurant had one of the best desserts I've ever had. I love this place. It was amazing.

if I could give this a -5 stars I would I've been going to the one in Miami for many years and it is fantastic and I expected the same here but the entire experience was awful and the service was absolutely terrible. They messed up my reservation. The food was bad and it was expensive I don't recommend this place at all.

Oh ZUMA!!! Absolutely love ZUMA The atmosphere is fun and inviting The food is amazing The service is good The prices are pricey but worth it Great for dinner with friends or date night. Keep the kiddos at home (doesn't seem kid friendly)
Zuma - Excellent and expensive as always
My wife and I went here during the day for lunch and spent over $300 for lunch however you don't mid as long as the service, atmosphere and food are worth it. We have previously eaten at the Zuma restaurants in London and Bangkok so knew what we were going to get - expensive meal but good experience. The food was lovely, wine chilled and served perfectly and the hostess and waitress were both friendly. Zuma is expensive but most of the diners in there when we went were spending company money on business lunches so it is ideally set up for relieving people of 'soft money'. I didn't mind paying for the meal though as it was a nice experience, much better than the likes of Scarpetta in Mid Town which is all style over substance, Zuma has the food and service to match the the fancy decor.
I suppose if what are you going for is overpriced mediocre
I suppose if what are you going for is overpriced mediocre Asian food then this is your place. It's not awful but also it's not worth the price tags it comes along. we came here as a recommendation from a friend and understanding it's one of those higher end Asian fusion food places we all came in skeptical. The decorations were modern and sophisticated, clean and not to dim. The service was great, everyone was really nice and helpful. food wise I would say it's meh, not amazing and not mind blowing but nothing I have to complain greatly about. Calamari- crispy and hot, salty savory and the perfect bite as an appetizer Trigger shrimp tempura - honestly I have no idea what in the world is this dish but I can tell you it is NOT tiger shrimp. I can get this at a grocery store and toss it in the airfryer. these are definitely not tiger shrimps considering how tiny they are! What a disgrace Sushi rolls (spicy tuna and shrimp tempura maki)- spicy tuna was fresh and not too much of a kick. I was hoping it'll be a bit spicer but it was decent. there was no fishy aftertaste so I can tell the sashimi is a good quality. the shrimp tempura on the other hand, i nearly gasped after tasting carrots in my maki. what in the westernized is this !? again, another minus. skirt steak- probably the only thing I can honestly compliment fully with no complaints. cooked perfectly, medium rare , seasoned well and the chutney it came with complimented the meat well. delicious and juicy! lava cake- we got this as a decadent treat. didn't realize it was going to be that much! the ice cream was a great paring to the sweet chocolate dessert. but I personally thought it wasn't enough cake and too much liquid chocolate. Overall I wouldn't return, it was more of a one time visit for the sake of it. but there was other much better high end restaurants to go to for your Asian fix. not worth the time if you're looking for an amazing recommendation
A place to experience it all with whoever you want-- great
A place to experience it all with whoever you want-- great night, guaranteed. I was here with my parents, boyfriend, and siblings (youngest was 10 yrs old) and we all had a wonderful time. My boyfriend and I arrived early and had delicious & well- mixed cocktails at the upstairs bar before being sat with the rest of the party upon their arrival. As a large party of 7, we all sat very comfortably around a round table and could share in all the deliciousness the menu had to offer. Our server was wonderful and recommended some great "off-menu" dishes. He was very attentive and made sure we were able to taste the entire array of dishes they offered in our order. Whether you wanted amazing quality sushi or fun modern cuisine -- Zuma could do it all. The ambiance was so comfortable, yet very upscale. Would recommend this to anyone!
I went with my job for a private dinner.
Food - was great. I loved how they served it family style. Made it a different experience. Everything tasted amazing and was cooked to perfection. The tray that they brought out for the desserts was huge! And filled with or sorts of stuff! Really really good. Ambiance - loud, fun, hip The upstairs is all private rooms for dining. Ive never seen so many private rooms before at one restaurant. Service was ok. But again I was at a private dinner so the staff seemed very formal and uptight. I would definitely go back on my own time to experience the restaurant on the main floor.

Zuma restaurant presents an aesthetic oasis, boasting a beautiful ambience that's sure to captivate diners. Upon entering, one is greeted by a sophisticated atmosphere that promises an indulgent experience. The cocktails at Zuma are undeniably stellar, crafted with precision and offering a delightful array of flavors to tantalize the palate. Whether it's a classic cocktail or a unique concoction, each sip is a journey of taste and sophistication. However, despite these highlights, Zuma falls short in terms of service and food quality. The service, unfortunately, suffers from sluggishness, with orders taking longer than expected and dishes arriving out of sequence. Good luck with ordering second round of drinks! Additionally, several dishes were served cold, detracting from the overall dining experience. Zuma is best recommended for patrons seeking a place to enjoy exceptional drinks, at the bar preferably, and soak in the enchanting ambiance. While the cuisine may not consistently meet expectations due the slow and unprofessional service, the allure of Zuma's atmosphere and beverage selection make it a worthwhile destination for those prioritizing aesthetics and libations over culinary perfection.
The restaurant was nice, the service was good.
I did not like the sushi at all. The dessert was my favorite part of our meal.
Service was great, food was just a little above average.
I got the chefs pick of sushi as a starter (3 pieces) and had the salmon as my entree. Sushi was okay nothing special. The salmon was good and so were the little pickled cucumbers on the side.
Fantastic dining experience and dare I say, probably my
Fantastic dining experience and dare I say, probably my first choice for a place to grab a drink if I want to have a fancy night out (you need to check out the lounge on the second floor - top notch). We came for a birthday and we were not disappointed one bit. I love the food here. Appetizers are great - rock shrimp was fantastic but the spicy tuna on the rice cracker was the best thing I ate that night. It was crispy, light and worked perfectly with the spicy tuna. Sushi here was also fresh and well done. The family also got a steak for the table to share which again got top marks across the table. The service here is fantastic. There isn't much else to say other than it was superb and commensurate for a restaurant of this level. This place is definitely a splurge - prices are what you expect for a high end restaurant so don't get sticker shock. Last note, if you're bringing a cake from outside, ingredients need to be on the box (or it's a no go) and the cake cutting fee is $9 a head. Thumbs up, had a great time.
Asian food at its finest
Absolutely fabulous! Amazing tasting menu where we got to try all sorts of dishes from the menu. Standouts were yellow fin tuna sashimi, lobster, and the wagyu beef. Desserts were also special with a banana cake to die for! Staff and surroundings were great too. Would definitely revisit and recommend
Zuma style food
Ambience was too good food is that u praise as much u can and it is short for them Nice Decor and taste of good is a class splly cod fish and baby chicken
Atrocious Service (Everything WRONG with the service industry today)
I want to tell you why we will NEVER return to this god-forsaken place. Beyond the fact that the food is, at best, mediocre compared to Japanese restaurants with a similar price range, such as Nobu, they were the epitome of everything that is going wrong in the service and hospitality industry. I walked in wearing a beautiful embroidered Kaftan cape, and the "bouncer" followed me inside and asked me to take it off and give it to coat check because he considered it a "hoodie," and they have "a tightly enforced dress code." Fair. I'm not expecting him to grasp what a Kaftan is; otherwise, he would probably not be working in that position. BUT HERE'S WHAT TRULY TRIGGERED ME...If an establishment wants to enforce its rules, that's fair. HOWEVER, regulations must be enforced UNIFORMLY and not selectively. Two gentlemen were not adhering to the dress code; one was donning a beanie, and the other a baseball cap. Naturally, I pointed these out to the manager and asked her whether they would be asked to remove their hats, to which she responded, "No, we are not allowed to ask them to remove their hats." "Okay, what's the reason?" I asked. And her feeble response was, "I am not allowed to get into the details, but thank you for understanding." Seriously? I don't deserve an explanation at least. How ludicrous, and the audacity for her to tell me, "Thanks for understanding." No, I refused to "UNDERSTAND" but let it go because I was a little more civilized and did not want to make a big scene when the right thing to do was to apologize and allow me to wear my original outfit. Get off your moral high horse because the discriminatory enforcement of dress code policies is not a great look for you and your business.
Great spot
I really enjoyed my dinner here Service at start was poor - we were made wait 20 minutes for our table Atmosphere was great, we went on a Tuesday and place was very buzzy. Food was very expensive but also worth it Would recommend trying it out Desert amazing !!
Nice in NY
We booked late and there were not too many people . The food Zuma expectation. I Would not recommend the black cod … for me it had a very strong smell. Same with the salmon tartare. For The rest was really good. Location ok . For Zuma around the world I already visited honestly In NY I expected better …

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
