Azuki Sushi Lounge San Diego Reviews from The Last Year
I came here for my birthday, and it was soooo good.
If I could give this place over 5 stars, I would! Officially my favorite sushi restaurant in San Diego. Food: We ordered the crispy rice & tuna for appetizers and wow. This was the perfect rice to tuna ratio. The rice was perfectly crispy yet chewy, and the tuna was very fresh. I ordered the R U Kidding Me? roll, and it was so mind blowingly good. The truffle oil was the perfect amount so that it didn't overpower the dish and instead complimented all of the flavors in the roll. The crispy green onions were a very yummy addition, though a little too salty in my opinion. The fish was super fresh too. I was able to try my friends' By the Border roll and Super Dragon, which were both delicious as well. I think the R U Kidding Me? roll definitely stood out to me the most! Dessert: There was a complimentary birthday dessert too, which was a green tea and vanilla ice cream with strawberries and fried bananas! There is a $20 fee if you want them to cut a birthday cake you brought yourself. Drink: I ordered the Yuzu Collins, and it was a very pretty blue/purple that turned into pink when I poured a shot of lemon juice (?) into it. It was very yummy, citrusy, and honestly I couldn't really taste the alcohol much (which I prefer). Service: In addition to the delicious food, the service was amazing. Our server was so sweet, friendly, and patient! Luckily parking on a Monday at 7pm wasn't bad at all. It's street parking and after 6pm, there is no need to pay!

Always have been a big fan, my favorite sushi place in San Diego. Took my date last night and she said it was the best sushi she's ever had in her life, and she's been to Japan. The Kobe Roll blew her away. Service was impeccable and the wait staff / bartenders so friendly. 10/10

Food was SO good! Outdoor ambiance on the sidewalk is not amazingly romantic or anything. You're basically on the streets just north of downtown. Service was fantastic.

We live locally and have seen this sushi spot listed as one of the top in the area. We finally got around to trying and WOW. When I tell you I have tried what feels like every sushi spot in San Diego this is by far the best. We didn't make a reservation (rookie move) but they thankfully were very accommodating and squeezed us in. We dined upstairs in middle 'shared' table, the decor was beautiful. Dining area seems small when you enter, however it was very comfortable seating. The service was great, very attentive and kind which seems to be hard to come by these days. Drinks were good, they are batched which is ok if you don't want a "customized drink". No big deal for us. The sushi was absolutely amazing. I don't think we can go anywhere else for sushi. 10/10 recommend but recommend a reservation for sure! P.S will update review next time with more pictures!!

Azuki Sushi in San Diego is so cool! This cozy spot hits all the right notes with its incredible sushi selections that are both fresh and flavorful. The vibe inside is just right for a casual dinner or a special night out. Service is top-notch, with staff who genuinely seem to care about your dining experience. I've been here multiple times and each visit leaves me more impressed. Definitely a must-visit for sushi lovers in the city!

Recently visited Azuki for the first time and it was excellent. The sushi was on point and the fish was delicious. Great ambiance and we will definitely return.

Called at 6PM on a Thursday and was offered a table outside or first come first serve at the bar Our timing felt perfect because we witnessed a walk in being denied stating an hour and 30 min wait We got these Chirashi bowls - they were about $40 each, so this is definitely a spot for a splurge dinner, but there was definitely quality fish, the vinegar rice was tasty as well.

Oh my God, their rolls are so good and I'll just say that the Kobe roll is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth! The service was great, and they also have some really good cold sakes. You will not be disappointed, the sushi is spectacular and I think they still have seating out on the sidewalk. If you don't want to eat in their little sushi bar plus they have a back patio upstairs that's kind of outside and kind of not... Very nice!
Sushi was amazing, it is in my top favorites now.
Recommend making a reservation it get pretty busy but worth it if you have to wait. Drinks are tasty and unique first time having a cocktail with matcha and wasabi.
Amazing food ! service was outstanding.
I sat at the sushi bar and it was such a great experience. The employees make my night very special. They are very friendly and professional. Uni toast , crispy rice and kobe roll , everything was spectacular and perfect ! Definitely recommend this place 100%. Thank you for the experience.
Food was too notch, and the presentation was picture worthy.
We filled up on sushi, so we declined the desert menu and paid the bill while finishing our glass of wine. I literally took my last sip when the manager came over and asked me how we liked our dinner and politely "well sort of" said to please move along as he had another reservation! I heard him do the same thing to the table next to us to the gentleman who had also paid and was waiting for his gf to return from the ladies room. Easily would be a 5 star if not for this "tacky" behavior after we just spent a chunk of change there!
We love Azuki! Best sushi in San Diego.
Beautiful ambience and innovative rolls. My favorite menu items are the spicy tuna crispy rice and the garlic edamame. The service is good usually but I can find that their reservation system is glitchy and there have been multiple times where I have showed up and our reservation was no where to be found and they were not accommodating.
Literally incredible.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for quality sushi. We got the pork belly and sea urchin appetizers, they were unique and yummy. The Kobe beef roll was life changing.

Such a great restaurant.
Amazing sushi, love the atmosphere and always wonderful service! Highly recommend.
My girlfriend took me here for my birthday dinner date.
I have to say, their sushi is AMAZING.

This sushi place was very cute, loved the ambiance, the sushi was fantastic; some of the best sushi I've ever had. The cocktails are unique and different. Love it!
I've been here a total of 3 times & the sushi hits every.
single. time. I ordered: CRISPY TUNA ON RICE - You need to get this appetizer. I wish it came with more for the price, it comes with 4 but it's a pretty heavy dish that 4 will still satisfy you. The crispy rice is perfect! Not too hard and the tuna is refreshing. BY THE BOTDER - This roll was ok. The seared albacore on top was bomb but the tuna inside was a little fishy. R U KIDDING ME - Hands down the best roll. The tuna is super flavorful & it comes with a little salad on top with the best dressing. OVERALL - Love the ambiance & quick service. It's pretty easy to get a reservation as well!
just wow
we did take out so cannot speak to the staff and all but the sushies themselves, best ever, and i have had sushi in a dozen or so of the greatest place in north america, by far they are the best of the best best.
Best sushi in San Diego
The dumplings are the best Iβve ever had. We have many favorites such as the Kobe roll, and the specialtyhandrolls. The sashimi is always fresh. Everything on their menu is superb.
Spendy and delicious
Expensive high quality food with very good service. Be prepared to spend 50-100 per person for a meal that doesn't leave you hungry
Nothing Special
Quite disappointing. The place has zero appeal and is in dire need of a reno. The music they were playing is pop. The sushi offerings are no different from a regular place, not this supposed to be higher scale place. The tempura bowl was so stingy 2/3 of it was rice. And mini shrimps at that.
