Fort Worth Zoo Reviews from The Last Year
Lots of shaded areas and paths
Large animal enclosed with multiple species within. Shaded pathways throughout and water misters at several spots. Exhibits have been updated over the last ten years and continues with still another area update. Always enjoy this zoo as the attendants and keepers are friendly and inviting. At least a two to three hour visit is normal - not because of the crowns but of the size and area covered. Lots of parking though you may be walking a bit.
I LOVE FORT WORTH ZOO!!!!! We have a pass so we take our
I LOVE FORT WORTH ZOO!!!!! We have a pass so we take our daughter here all the time! She loves all the animals. She loves feeding the giraffe. She loves seeing the elephant and their new habitat. Her favorite of all is the flamingo habitat in the beginning of the park though. You can get so close to them, she can stare at those flamingos for hours if we let her lol. I love how you can bring your own ice chest here. But even if you chose to eat here their food pricing are so reasonable! No overpriced food so it's a good thing! Oh and also on the summer time, is not as hot here because they have so many trees. So that's a plus!
Pleased with all aspects of our visit to the Fort Worth Zoo.
There was quite a line of cars heading into the parking lot on this beautiful weekend day. Probably took about 15 minutes to park with most of that time in line to pull into the zoo property. One into the lot everything was smooth with the acceptable line to buy tickets and the person at the ticket counter was very accommodating in looking up our discount for a reciprocal account with another organization in Florida where we are members. Ended up being half price. The flow of the zoo was logical and easy to follow. All of the exhibits were well done. A special treat was the giraffe area and the ability to feed the giraffes. Also really liked the great apes and the large cats. Didn't try any food, so no comments on that. Plenty of shaded areas and benches to rest and get out of the sun.
Great zoo, easy to get around, animals look healthy

Ft. Worth Zoo ranks in the top ten zoos of the USA
The Ft. Worth Zoo is top notch. The highly skilled professionals from all over the planet responsible for the Zoo, have earned a place in the top ten zoos in the United States of America.
We love the Fort Worth Zoo! We get Pogo passes at least
We love the Fort Worth Zoo! We get Pogo passes at least once a year and always use our zoo visit! It has a great layout, there's no shortage of animals to see, and you can even feed the giraffes (which is always a highlight). It's definitely worth a visit if you get a chance to go.
Such a beautiful Zoo.
You can tell they really take care of their animals. Their areas are so clean and staff is very helpful. Best Zoo in the DFW area. You can even interact with some of the animals.
Great care of the animals saw my first Komodo dragon.
Easy public transit from the airport.
Love the Ft Worth Zoo
I went to the Ft Worth Zoo with my roomate. I hadn't been in years and was suprised at how beautiful it was. I love all of the huts around the animal viewing spots, this kept us so cool during our visit. The Zoo employees were all so helpful and kind. We have purchased memberships ( so inexpensive!) and will be returning soon! Loved the experience
Beautiful zoo, and very well maintained! If I had to make
Beautiful zoo, and very well maintained! If I had to make the choice between going to the Dallas zoo and the Ft. Worth Zoo, I'd deff make the trip out here instead! We had a couple hours to kill prior to our event, so we decided to go to the zoo and spend the day outside. Since it was a beautiful day, everyone had the same idea that day LOL. It was PACKED! Parking was free. Our tickets were $1 less because we purchased them online. I would recommend doing so because the lines at the zoo may be very long!
Went here last week with my son.
We walked the whole length of the zoo and was very impressed. Went on half price Wednesday and it was great!! Clean exhibits and bathrooms. Great variety of Animals. Tram could be a bit cheaper for a 3 minute ride. Will definitely go back!!
That train rides is worse thing the zoo offers and it cost
That train rides is worse thing the zoo offers and it cost 5buck to see nothing and to top it off.. 5 bucks each way omg.. I want my money back for that ride.. I guess I was the dummy cause I was literally the only person on the train... You save a dollar ordering your tickets on line.. the it's self was pretty cool.. other then that ridiculous train ride
Fun Zoo! Too bad it was over run with field trip kids.
Lots of upgrades in the last several years. Easily accessible. Lots of access to annimals and easy for littles to get up to see them too. Good options for food and it was resonable priced for being inside an attraction. The carousel is $7 per rider. My only complaint was that their was nothing on the website that today was field trip day. I also feel like they should limit the number of buses allowed on any given day. It was pretty miserable for the 1st few hours of the day. Otherwise a great day!
Be careful when you pay to feed the giraffes.
They aren't watching it closely enough to ensure that those that pay to feed them are able to feed them. And then if the giraffes are full and walk away you're stuck with $6 leaves, no refunds. I get that they eat when they're hungry but don't have 10 people at once buying leaves if you're not going to monitor it. They have someone standing by the giraffe during the feeding but she sits there gossiping with other zoo keepers.
Half price day? Forget about it.
Spent over 2 hours just trying to get in the place and could never reach the front gate. Ditched the line when we were too hungry to wait and had to use the restroom. Lost money on my online tickets. Fun day at the zoo never happened. Worst traffic i have ever seen in my life. Kid and mom not happy
Great zoo! arrive early, be mindful with your strollers and wagons
This is a very good zoo. A lot of effort is made to mimic the animals natural habitat, yet you can get pretty close to some of them. The enclosures are larger than other zoos I have visited. There is plenty of information about conservation and the animals. The paths are walkable and not overly strenuous. My only real complaint is that strollers and wagons get in the way, so perhaps stroller parking should be made available and enforced. The Texas area includes a very large children’s area. I arrived before opening time, and there was already a long line to get in. When I left, it looked like parking was a nightmare. I have mixed feelings about zoos. I do have concerns about the animals being out of their larger natural habitat, but value the education provided.
Good day trip for families!
We visited this zoo with our 9 year old daughter, mid-winter. It was really clean, and there were so many animals we had never seen. I loved that there were so many cool aviaries between larger exhibits. My daughter liked the big cats the best, but also enjoyed the goat brushing area and the sea creatures touch tank. Signage was easy to follow. We had never seen kangaroos before, and the baby gorilla was quite a treat. The eateries were nice, so many options agreeable to kids and adults were available. The layout somewhat ensures that if you missed a site the first time, you could probably see it on your way back to the entrance. 10/10 would go again.
Amazing zoo
Easily the best zoo I have been to! Arrived at opening to beat the heat/crowds and it went well - we did have two school groups visiting which added to the crowds but that is hard to plan for. Happy, well cared for animals and great staff. Habitats are simply beautiful and unique. We especially loved the Elephant and Big Cat sections.
Great zoo!
Second time visiting this time it wasn't as busy so it was great to see some of the animals up close. A lot of exhibits to see. Only stayed for two hours because of other obligations we had and saw only half of the park. For two adults and one child it was about $50 dollars but you definitely get your moneys worth. A definite must visit if you are in the area.
