Motek Aventura - Mediterranean Cafe & Restaurant Reviews from The Last Year

Motek is probably one of the best restaurants on the up and up. They have locations throughout Miami and you can not go wrong with their food and drinks and services, they are on point every step of the way from the time you are seated.

Disheartened to have to leave a poor review for an establishment I've loved for years but after an incident that occurred on Saturday night 4/6 I must. After raving about Motek to my mother, I decided to surprise her with a dinner at Motek Aventura giving her the clue "it's my favorite restaurant". Dinner was spectacular particularly our service due to our kind and courteous server Tjana. I was so pleased with the night as soon as we left the table I stopped a man in a grey suit asking if he was a manager to rave about the experience and service. I even told him I was celebrating with my mom! Literally a moment later as we made our way indoors to go to the restroom my mother was aggressively bumped into another manager in a darker navy suit who was in a hurry to a large party we were dining next to. He was in such a hurry to get through the doorway ahead of her she felt pushed. Accidents happen but his negligence and poor manners got worse when he stepped on her feet. My mother is handicapped, recently having two knee replacements so this ordeal was serious resulting in her needing to take a moment to sit and recover from the pain. The accident was negligent and could have been overlooked with a sincere apology. The manager who bumped into my mother is Javier Mendez, he was insincere with his apology and at best careless who demonstrated a cocky and rude demeanor. He did not check on my mother but Victor the initial manager in grey along with Tjana took a moment to check in as we waited for my mother to feel comfortable to walk. All in all a terribly handled situation with poor management resulting in an injury. As a loyal regular of Motek at all locations, this ordeal is tragic.
Food is first rate, served beautifully, and always tasty.
Plates are served as the chef finishes them, to be enjoyed family style, desserts are creatively composed and not overly sweet. Just right.

It's been year since I came into this restaurant and as always the service was superb, the ambiance was amazing, and the food was great. My favorite meal out of everything was the hummus with the pita bread. It's a definite must try if you have never tried it before.
I read a review of this spot, so I wanted to try it.
It's in the mall food court, so virtually no ambiance. You order at a counter and pick up the food in a bag, even if you want to eat there. The price was over the top, just as expensive as their restaurant downstairs. Over $80 for three people. One beer and one bottle of water were like $15. The food was tasty and filling, granted, the pitas very tasty, but not included and $2 each. The sides were nice. Overall, it was on par with any of the local old school pita shops. Finally, after eating there, I had an upset stomach for three days, my wife said I used too much of the side sauces. "Don't believe the hype", not recommended.
Very tasty .
, all the dishes was the right choice. Branzino very good , Service, could be more friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised by Motek, given that it is in a mall. I came during the happy hour and loved it! They have food and drink options for the happy hour at the bar. The staff was very nice and attentive. The place itself does not feel like you're at a mall and had very cute decor. The food and drinks were delicious. If you're looking for a "different" drink to try I recommend purple fields!

I've had Motek a few times on Uber eats but recently finally dined at the Aventura Mall location and had an awesome experience! The overall aesthetic and vibe of the restaurant is great, and you don't feel like you are at the mall at all. Our server was attentive throughout the entire meal and we ordered a lot and he was very patient with us and all of our requests. Let's talk about the food! Everything was delicious. Here's what we ordered: Apps- Hummus with Tahini - some of the best hummus I've had. The consistency is so smooth and it is very flavorful with the olive oil and pine nuts. I loved it! Babaganoush - This eggplant dip was also very good and it has pomegranate seeds in it which makes it very refreshing. Pickled veggies - These were ok, the portion was too small in my opinion and the pickles are very small. I think it's a good accompaniment but for $10 not worth it unless you're really craving them. Falafel- I did not try these personally but my friend raved about them and said they were out of this world. They looked delicious! Bite sized but they had a decent amount and the fried eggplant it camewith was delicious. Zucchini Latkes- So good! Very fried and crispy so not the healthiest choice, but worth the splurge if you're a latke fan! Mains - Chicken Schnitzel Plate - this is my favorite dish here. The chicken is so thin and has just enough crisp but still is juicy and tasty. I love the sesame seeds in the breading too! The harissa sauce it comes with is also so good. Arayes Burger - my husband and his friend got this and they said it was delicious, just very filling! Looks great. The New York Flat bread - One of our favorite dishes too! The pastrami was delicious and sliced thinly. The only thing I will say is that the flat bread isn't that thin, so it can be very filling!

Amazing food and gorgeous restaurant! I've tried the different types of hummus, shawarma, kofte and the burger! Everything is soooooo good, especially the bread! Service is usually great as well. Definitely recommend!
Best hummus I've ever eaten.
What to say about this place? Perfect, delicious food! Hummus is the best I've ever eaten in my life, we've been back several times! The place is beautiful and the service is perfect.
Way too little for too much and deceived about “FREE” $9 bread.
Overcharged for small portions. Tried for 1st time with my wife. Nice ambiance. Ordered “lamb” kebob for $32. Comes with spicy green pepper. Little to eat. Not chunks of lamb, but ground meat?? We ordered hummus/tahini also. Decent, small portion . Server brought nice loofah bread. Best part of meal. My wife ordered falafel . Seemed decent, but my wife was sick later that evening. , but once again, came with nothing and small portion. When I received bill, I was charged $9.00 for loofah bread. Had never ordered this $9.00 bread and would never have ordered it, had I known that they were planning to charge me $9.00 for it. This is like a scam. They put it on your table and you assume it comes with hummus order. I didn’t complain about it because I did not want to upset my wife. I paid the bill and left never to return.
Don't waste your time or money
The worst, most wildly overpriced garbage mall food I have ever had. Ordered Lamb Shish Kabob, got ground mystery meat instead. Unapologetic wait staff with a terrible attitude. Don't waste your time and money.
learn spanish
Beautiful place, the food is good, the service is one of the worst. The waitress was very unhappy that we didn't speak Spanish and gave us recommendations on shareables that were really small (say it's smaller and more inviting). She was very short with us and was much more kind with Spanish speakers and gave them great service. I did not expect from such a place racism towards people who do not speak Spanish. I have to point out that the whole staff speaks Spanish and not just honey, but I have never met such racism from the waitress anywhere
Frustrating and expensive for what it delivers, in addition to charging 20% of the total bill. I will never step foot here again!!!
The restaurant charges a 20% service tax!!! It doesn't matter if you are alone or with one other person!!! There is no negotiation!!! The master simply forced us to pay the 20% without any other option. And food isn't even those things. Pure pepper. I do not recommend this restaurant!!!
Great Israeli Food but Needs to be Nicer to Wine Drinkers
Great food, nice staff but an outrageous corkage fee of $60 for a restaurant without linens and plastic dishes is a bit absurd. I meant to complain to the manager but had to leave quickly. Miami has always been a reasonable town for corkage. Now it seems it is trying to discourage customers from bringing their own wines which is a very unfortunate choice. I think this will hurt dining in the long run.
TOP LUNCH
Excellent food! Ambience 10! I highly recommend it. Family lunch! Brickel City Center. Great option for a different meal.
We were a group of 13 people . My daughter made the RSVP.
We were a very large group And we were lucky that my daughter’s reservation was still good when we arrived at 7:30pm. We have never been here ever since we are tourists and we shared the plates: Israeli salad , cauliflower couscous , Hummous mushroom, crispy chicken schnitzel, chicken shawarma, some laffa bread , French fries . And Turkish Lamb kebab . Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals ! Very delicious food !! Fast service !
Unity in Adventure
I went to the unit located in Aventura Mall. Great. Very well prepared mezzes. Great kebabs (kafta), especially the lamb one. Excellent bread to accompany. The grilled artichokes don't disappoint either. Worth visiting
Run out of food at 745 pm !
We went twice to a Motek Aventura Miami. On both occasions with fiends who,had heard good things about this Mediterranean styled restaurant. One has to book its essential to do so. The first time we booked for 800 pm requested one of the cauliflower appetisers to be told we don’t have any. I’m vegetarian and the menu is limited for me so I had the summer salad of watermelon Our friends and my husband had meat sandwiches which they enjoyed our server was efficient but when paying. She gave us a much larger bill from another table ! Our second visit on the 26 December some days later table booked for 745 pm. Our guests asked for the meat sandwiches to be told we don’t have any as we’ve sold out. Our guests asked what do,you have and the server rattled off not much left on the menu. We asked for a bottle of rose wine it was warm even though it was in an ice bucket Once again no cauliflower again I had watermelon option salad…… It’s obvious to me that someone in the kitchen can’t do the math when ordering the food because they run out,of food on their menu by 745pm each and every night….. Are Motek so arrogant they think diners will flock anyway …. ? “emperors new clothes “. Motek watch out there’s better Mediterranean inspired restaurants coming up in Miami.
