The food is just mediocre but with all the ramen competition in the Bay Area, this should be the bottom 20%. I ding them most on the service. The host was borderline rude and couldn't care less about service. We got here on Sunday at 1:15 pm. We were ignored by the host while he placed back and forth doing whatever he was doing. Place was around 25% capacity. When we were eventually seated, it was at the worst table in house, facing a very dirty kitchen. We retreated to changed our table and the host said it's not possible because we've ordered out food (via QR code on table). Mind you there were plenty of tables around and at this time, no other customers were coming in. You won't be confused on which table you serve at this point cos the rest of the customers already has their food. So my entire meal I looked into the entrance is a nasty kitchen. Very unappealing.At 10 mins before closing, another server came and literally said, you need to finish up. We are closing in 10 mins. At that point, I was done eating, my husband was on his last 2 bites of ramen, and we had a piece of chicken karaage left. I informed the server that he can see we are finishing up and will not take that long. But if he insisted on his leaving on time, give us a to go box. He can back with the box and literally fling it in the table. At that point we asked to see the manager. This Japanese looking staff member pulled the server aside and went to the back. Then all the staff went to the back and no one came out. It was unfortunate that we had already paid with this new QR code system. It was the biggest disappointment. It sure felt like we were being discriminated upon and one after another the staff were just rude. Either that or we arrived 45 mins to closing on a Sunday which is too late for them.
