OMG, I was a little afraid after seeing some bad reviews, but I'm so glad I did. Everything I had was on point, from the super fresh Toro to the straight from the sea Uni. Here's hoping some sushi lovers give the place a try and drown out those ridiculous reviews about a to go lunch plate. Try this restaurant!

My wife wanted to give this place a try tonight, so of course I immediately started checking Yelp for reviews. I am a little strict on my sushi being top quality and some of the reviews made me a little worried. I can safely report that my fears were completely unfounded. All of my favorites were extremely high quality. We had two types of Toro, so good. The sweet shrimp was so fresh, the salmon, yellow tale and the blue fin tuna were among the best I've had. We ordered a half dozen Oysters that were absolutely some of the best I've had in town. We wished we had ordered a dozen. I'm saving the Santa Barbara sea urchin for last, it was the best I've had. Like a taste of the ocean, clean and absolutely amazing. The staff was so friendly we felt we had been there 100 times. Ignore the one star reviews, reading them now it seems full of people complaining of take out rolls with multiple ingredients , yes, a hot roll with cold fish on top will not hold up for 30 minutes. Eat it there, or order something suitable for take out. The place was packed with people who all seemed happy. Don't sleep on this spot, it may be Downtown Summerlin's best sushi spot. Best sushi, beautiful decore and a wonderful waitstaff. Will be going again very soon.
The sushi was great.
It was a bit pricey but it was reasonable for Las Vegas ! The ambiance was great. I loved the space and it was so quiet and had a respectful vibe. The service was very prompt and we had so much fun. Our server made our dinner very fun and enjoyable!
It was a beautiful ambiance & the roll I had was very yummy.
I enjoyed the fresh wasabi & my son liked his chicken teriyaki. My friend had the bento box which looked amazing as well! The server was super sweet.
This place sets a high standard when it comes to quality
This place sets a high standard when it comes to quality and taste. This sushi restaurant is top notch for sashimi of the most exceptional quality (that you can genuinely taste). The freshness is incredibly apparent from my first bite, especially in their high-grade, deep red tuna, which stands out from the typical AYCE (All You Can Eat) quality (this place is NOT AYCE btw). Alongside their other sashimi, the squid and octopus sashimi also tasted as if it had been caught that very day and everything tasted sweet in the ways you expect with such high quality. The best part is that the slices are thick too, so you're getting your moneys worth. I also had an incredibly fresh and high-quality spicy tuna roll and rainbow roll, as well as albacore, tuna (maguro), and salmon (plus salmon roll). Something about the taste of their spicy tuna rolls made it stand out compared to 99% of others. Everything was also artfully presented and even the bed of vegetables tasted decent (I assume it's there to help freshen the palate for the next fish). The interior design is rooted in traditional themes, featuring a large sushi bar at its center. The service was very fast, and the sushi chefs displayed remarkable attentiveness to all my orders. The server was equally kind and attentive. Although there was a minor hiccup where 2-3 additional items were inadvertently added to the bill, causing a momentary price shock, I had tracked all my orders on my phone and they were quick to fix the issue. Considering the substantial amount I had ordered (about 4 rolls and 6-7 orders of various sashimi at different times), I understood but definitely happy to have kept track of it on my phone since it would've caused me a lot of hassle (since I only had cash for a specific budget).
Sushi Loca is my second favorite place to have Sushi.
I could not recall all the rolls we had so I tried to document what I could. Service was great on the day we came in but we did come right after it opened so that always helps. They still had Christmas decorations up which is odd a couple weeks after the holidays. All the sushi was really great!
Pay attention to your bill.
There was a hidden 10 fee. Tax should have been $9.54. But the bill said 19.07. When I called the restaurant blamed it on Uber. So I called Uber they said it was the restaurant.
We thought give it a try.
The experience is disappointing. We ordered a dinner box (Bento Box) for $29 and it's so skimpy.... A pretty big and shallow tray with a few pieces of beef and chicken with a small portion of rice, lettuce salad and maybe something else but I don't remember anymore. It's like airplane food size. We also ordered ramen noodles soup, $17. It came with a large bowl with ample amount of soup and noodles, a few pieces of thinly cut meat and a few pieces of bamboo shoots. With no egg and any else. Taste is on bland side and it's just ok but again it needs more stuff. Compare with other restaurants' ramen noodles, it's on short side. The best thing is the ambience. The restaurant is good looking. The service is disappointing. The server seems not wanting to be there. She is cold in mannerism. While one of us still eating she sticks a check to us. The restaurant is not crowded with many empty tables.... There is a pleasant server who filled up our water glasses. Even she can't compensate the cold one. Won't be returning for sure. When I review a restaurant, I am happy providing positive reviews. But when I experienced something poor, I have to say something.
I ordered the Mangiare and Baked salmon rolls to go.
The baked salmon was okay at best and the mangiare was so bad I had to throw it away after two rolls - it was way too greasy and the roll was more mayo than fish. Service was bad. The person who answered the phone was rude. They charge $1 for a small to go container for every sauce which is absurd. Wouldn't recommend there are better places in the area and all across Vegas.
Really good spicy roll was not too spicy, the ponzu sauce
Really good spicy roll was not too spicy, the ponzu sauce helps mellow out the spiciness
Nice, big restaurant.
I was seated immediately and had my own private sushi chef who was very good. The quality was similar to the AYCE places I go to but the check was over $80 with 20% tip for one person, which is why I gave it 3 instead of 4 stars. Portions are generous but I won't be going back because for the same price Yummy Grill Sushi on Lake Mead is higher quality and they have Ankimo.
Went here because I had a voucher.
Was skeptical at first but I had to use my voucher. We were a group of 3. From the start, the interior was nice, the Christmas decorations were tasteful. But we ended up looking at them longer than expected because the hostess was also waiting and got a lot of guests she was tending to at the time. However, we ended up getting seated. Server was somehow overall frazzled. When ordering food, she kept making side comments about what we ordered wasn't that good and something else would be better? Kind of had a not-so-good impression after that. Onto the food. Wow. Ordered sukiyaki. I wouldn't have even called it to sukiyaki, rather it was more three noodles and three pieces of meat. It was in this tiny bowl for $25. This makes me mention the prices. The prices were way too expensive for what it is. If it's a la carte, I expect the quality to be way better. This goes for the rolls as well. The lobster roll was really underwhelming and a lot more rice than actual sushi. Overall, I would not come here again.
