Tre Lune Santa Barbara Reviews from The Last Year
Heads-up - Long review.
I'm a food and wine fan and an Italian lover with great experiences. Of course, taste and experience expectations are funny things, but one thing's for sure, the premier restaurants are fairly universally loved. Sometimes the problem is in the kitchen and sometimes it's on the floor. Tre Luna was a bit of both but by far the worst wine spectator Italian I have ever had, FWIW. On a side note, exceptional kudos to the valet. Our car and the valet were waiting for us (in the unexpected rain) as we walked out. Ratings out of 5: Room - 5 Vibe - 5 Wine list - 5 Wine prices - 5 No. dishes ordered - 3 No. dishes to die4 - 0 - Bread (IMHO leading indicator of restaurant performance) bad - Olive oil fair - Fried seafood medley - ok, though the prawn was fabulous - Two pasta dishes, pasta perfectly prepared - Meatballs, dry, chewy, tasteless - Both sauces good flavor, but dishes were over sauced Service - 2 - Waiter didn't know menu well - I ordered a 2018 Tignanello, they brought a 2020 wine without acknowledging what I picked. They said they just hadn't updated their wine list. Two huge no-nos for a Wine Spectator restaurant, especially two vintages off. I sure hope they weren't saving the good vintages for customers they valued more. They offered me to pick another. I didn't and as luck would have it, the wine was so bad (unheard of for Tig, though when I checked the rating afterwards, it was rated low by their standards) we didn't finish it.
I love Italian food! This culinary treat was recommended
I love Italian food! This culinary treat was recommended by a friend of mine as this is the first time I've been to Santa Barbara area. The restaurant is owned by a former New Yorker, which is important as I grew up cooking and loving New York, Italian food. Anytime I visit an Italian restaurant that I've not dined with, I always ask for a good old basic dinner in order to see how they cook their sauce and their meat balls. With that said, I ordered a starter of caprice salad with bufala mozzarella, and to my surprise the cheese was not soft and a bit dry. It was still tasty, but I'm used to the texture of my bufala to having bufala mozzarella melt in my mouth. I must say that a service staff were amazing as they were timely, friendly, and perfectionist with their table service during my meal !! My dinner was well presented and very tasty as I loved their tomato sauce. I do have to note though that the meatballs were very dry. At the end of my meal, I had some cappuccino and a cream brûlée dessert that was wonderful. . All in all the meal was good and I would definitely recommend you enjoy a feast there if you're visiting Santa Barbara or Montecito CA. Until next time, bon appétit Ronn just Ronn The hole in the wall food guy.
Not my favorite

I love this place.
The food is amazing, the pasta is cooked Al dente, the service is great, and everything about this place is so nice. The mushroom rigatoni and Caesar salad are fantastic along with the burrata caprese salad!
Server was rude, and the owner wanted to turn the table
Server was rude, and the owner wanted to turn the table instead of letting us celebrate a birthday with out of town guests. Picked up the bill and said there is a 2 hr limit. Never going back
Amazing Italian Restaurant in Montecito
This is our favorite restaurant to go to whenever we are here in the Santa Barbara area or even when just passing through a drive up the coast. This wuaint Montecito neighborhood restaurant checks all the boxes in terms of what a great restaurant is for me. If craving for a real authentic Italian food, with their pasta done al dente and and so perfect, this would be the place. You would think that this place would be a snobbish place because of the known big name residents that dine here regularly but it’s not the case. The service is impeccable, and shout out to Fidencio that convinced us to buy the spicy olive oil because they were truly great to have in our kitchen! And for Fernando’s kind and excellent service even though we walked in a bit late, ( almost to their lunch time closing) because he was still able to give us service not feeling rushed at all! He was also able to give us the “scoop” on how those little chair decorations hanging meant and how to get one. In short, you must be a super regular diner there and to get one, you must have done at least 5 years. And the placing of the chair you get is also very important, kinda like getting the best location in real estate. Of course, we got the common where Oprah’s was lol! And, we were told Harry and Meghan just left the place for their regular lunch when we walked in. Also, we were told that the reason all these celebrities come to dine ( or lunch) there is because nobody ever bothers with them and are treated normal just as everyone is. As for the ambiance, the place is just regular small place in the middle of shops in the Mendocino town, almost nondescript but decor is definitely unique in that it has the old Hollywood vibes… and of course the chairs that each diner earns through the years of dining. The food, superb! I still have yet to order some that I didn’t like there. Even their mixed salad is great, their lasagna amazing and their meatballs great! We parked on the street with no problem!
Absolutely love this Italian spot.
The service is always very good and very attentive. The food is very delicious and has lots of flavor. Make sure to make reservations, as this little spot can get full very quickly. Always very clean and smells delicious.
I love this place.
It's one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara County & it holds a special place in my heart. It's a good example of allowing ingredients to shine & speak for themselves -- They are simple dishes but HIGH quality. I especially love the asparagus bruschetta (one of the best things I've ever eaten) & I used to be the biggest fan of their Gene's spaghetti until they changed the recipe (I'm assuming people complained it was too spicy, which it was but now it's bland & tastes like an entirely different dish. I hope they eventually find something in the middle). The ambiance is very romantic & feels formal but you'll see people in casual wear & in formal wear. It's what you want it to be. The waitstaff is one of a kind. They surprised my previous partner & I with a free tiramisu with "Happy Valentine's Day" written in chocolate because they thought we were cute. How sweet & rare. It made our night. They also refunded me when I ordered the Gene's spaghetti for the first time after they changed the recipe. This should be the case at every restaurant but you don't see it much nowadays. It's a little pricy but nothing crazy & definitely worth it. Overall, highly recommend.
Loved this place from having gone several times a few years
Loved this place from having gone several times a few years back, and was looking forward to revisiting on my latest trip to Santa Barbara. Was very disappointed. The food quality and flavor profiles deteriorated significantly. Maybe they got a new chef? Very mediocre dinner, despite a lovely staff.
I Made a reservation for 3 for a good friend's birthday for
I Made a reservation for 3 for a good friend's birthday for a Saturday evening about a week in advance. When we showed up they insisted on seating us outside on the front sidewalk by the valet area even though it was super windy and cold and had no partition or anything to block the heavy winds. They claimed they had reservations for regulars inside & we could not have an inside table. I was told I should've made the reservation two weeks in advance or more if I wanted to sit inside. I had no idea there was even outside seating. My friend who is a senior and it was her birthday didn't want to sit outside because it was so cold that evening with heavy winds and rain expected. We offered to wait for an inside table even though we had made a reservation and showed up on time. We even said that we would eat quickly so as to not take up a table for too long. Mngr insisted that the only place they could seat us was outside even though not a single other patron was seated outside. Not sure why we were treated so badly or how we offended the staff...The hostess & manager was not rude but seemed very clearly annoyed that we were being difficult. I was embarrassed and in tears because I planned a beautiful dinner for my friend, showed up with presents and the evening was ruined. We really didn't want sit outside in the cold so we left. :(
Marvelous Italian Montecito Gem
A marvelous Italian restaurant enjoyed by our group of 1 3 (at 2 tables inside) with welcoming, attentive staff even on a busy Saturday evening. Starters: Caesar Salad w/generous parmesan & rich salad dressing, delightful Bean Pasta Soup (served hot!) and a lovely Watercress, endive pears & bleu cheese salad. Burrata al Caprese is a wonderful appetizer. Entres: Salmon w/ Lemon Caper Sauce is a classic, Lasagne w/ thick, rich cheese & meat Ragu, Linguine w/ Shrimp & Zucchini, Rigatoni Tre Funghi (wow!) were among the favorites but the Fettuccini Mare w/ many, large chunks of lobster & mushrooms was absolutely the hit if the evening (had by 3 of us)! Dessert: oh well, we'll definitely have to come back!
Tre lune is AMAZING!!!! Everyone is super nice and helpful.
They can help with any suggestions if you need them. The food is fantastic! Everything is fresh and delicious. Reasonably priced as well. Great place for a date night or a girls night out. Parking is on the street. It is very nice and cozy inside.

Excellent Italian
Tre Lune was recommended by some friends. It was wonderful. The food, while expensive, was very good. We shared a Caesar salad and then had the truffle gnocchi and the lasagna. Contrary to some other reviews, the staff was excellent--attentive and helpful. The owner was visiting every table making sure that everything was meeting expectations. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Santa Barbara.
Weekend breakfast
We enjoyed a breakfast that was as unique as it was excellent. We both ordered Rose, which comprised of two perfectly poached eggs on Kalamata olive toast with an artichoke spread. The coffee is also great. The service is friendly and the atmosphere has an upscale fifties vibe.
A hidden gem. As good as it gets
Superb cuisine. As good as it gets outside Italy. Well informed Italian waitress. Heater as the evening chilled

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
