Angel Queens Reviews from The Last Year
Such an amazing cozy experience on a rainy day.
Made a reservation for a late lunch at 2pm or so and it was still pretty packed! Sat in the outdoor tent area. Service was great and food was delicious - really really hit the spot. My favorites were the garlic naan with lamb vindaloo and the samosas. While I enjoyed the channa masala and chicken briyani, they weren't my favorite and could have been more flavorful or spicy. Definitely recommend and I will be back!! So happy I got to try. Truly still craving this food.
I came to this restaurant for their delicious food, not for
I came to this restaurant for their delicious food, not for their venue and service. I made no mistake, it was indeed very delicious!
The service here is amazing although the Indian/desi food
The service here is amazing although the Indian/desi food flavors are not authentic. If your a brown person that is coming here because the biryani looks cool on the gram DONT DO IT! You will be disappointed and realize that this place is a tourist trap when you order their sugary chicken tikka and some spicy and tasteless rice that they call "biryani".
Oh man, my friend and I were SO looking forward to dinner
Oh man, my friend and I were SO looking forward to dinner here, but it turned out to be a disappointment. Ratings and photos of the food looked amazing, especially the cool videos we've seen of the Dum Biryanis. We made a reservation for 8:30 p.m. (it was the only time slot left) on a Saturday. Despite arriving a few minutes before our reservation, we had to wait in the freezing cold for about 15 minutes until a table was finally ready. Staff was nice and helpful! We ordered Goat Dum Biryani ($24.99), Butter Chicken ($18.99), and Garlic Naan ($5). It was cool to see the waiter cut the naan open and reveal a clay pot of biryani, but that was the best part about the dish. The biryani wasn't spicy, barely had any salt, and overall it lacked flavor. The goat meat's texture was perfect but again, it was bland. The Butter Chicken just didn't hit the spot for me. The cream was quite heavy - as it should be - but it was kinda sweet. You can't go wrong with Garlic Naan, and that was the only thing I enjoyed here.
Food is very good Best food I had in a long time best
Food is very good Best food I had in a long time best Indian spot in Jackson heights New York 10/10 service very satisfied with everything perfect place to eat with family and friends totally recommend
The food is incredible, it's such small spot, tucked away.
You wouldn't even know that some of the best indian food ( Atleast that I've ever had in NYC exists ). The service is super fast, and the employees are very respectful. I recommend this place to anyone. You will not be disappointed.
I stopped in here for dinner as the place is small we sat
I stopped in here for dinner as the place is small we sat at the curbside seating which was just a wooden box. I ordered the butter chicken which was not very rich in flavorful and was more soupy than anything.
Rating: 4.
5 Amazing Northern Indian restaurant in Jackson Heights! Would recommend having a reservation on the weekend - the place was really busy. We ordered the pani puri, dhal, lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, and chicken biryani. This was my first time trying pani puri and I loved it. It's refreshing, flavorful, and crispy and offsets the spice in the rest of the meal well. Would definitely order again. I was also a big fan of the dhal and chicken biryani, though I would note that every dish we ordered (except the pani puri) was decently spicy, even if they weren't labeled spicy on the menu. I don't often make the trek out to Jackson Heights, but this place is worth going to!
Incredible food and a cozy experience.
I've had some good Indian cuisine, but this is next level.
Fantastic for a group outing
We were a group of 12 and we had a FANTASTIC meal at Angel. The food was surprising, interesting, rib-sticking, and just delicious. There were plenty of options for vegetarians as well as carnivores. We left full and warm and simply delighted. Thank you to Azar and Angel and we will return!
This was an incredible meal.
Everything was so tasty, we loved all the dishes. Flavor profile of everything was so good.
Authentic and delicious
Extraordinary Indian food at a very reasonable price. There are just a few tables in this unassuming store front, but the food is absolutely first rate. Parking is a nightmare, and takeout might prove a more viable option than dining in.
Best indian food in NY
Authentic and delicious food. Service 5 stars. Amazing experience. Limitless recommended. Low prices.
Amazing, ate here twice in one day
The dining experience at Angel was so fantastic, my family and I ate twice i.e.both lunch and dinner on the same day during our visit to Jackson Heights. The service is prompt, attentive and heartwarming. As vegetarians, we enjoyed the paneer dishes as well as the cheese Naan and samosa chaat.
Delightful paneer
40.74723 -73.89093 with a 2021 Michelin Bibi Gourmand, youβd better make reservations at this small Jackson Heights restaurant, even though they have built an annex in front. The inside looks like a no-frills small diner with one row of tables. Nothing fancy to distract you from the real magic of meatless food from chef Amrit Pal Singh, who grew up in Punjab. With such high demand for tables and people queuing up, the service looks disorganised. But the kitchen has everything under control and the disorganisation stops there and quickly delivers rapidly delicious dishes. In June 2023, we ordered samosa ($5,99) as starters, which were excellent, and the house-made paneer kurchan ($17,99) that arrives with a dark, spicy curry of tomatoes and peppers with garlic naam ($5). Across India, paneer is part of every buffet in hotels and (roadside) restaurants ("dhabas"). Though tasty, it is not refined in flavour and texture. Therefore, you have to go to a non-buffet restaurant to experience delicious paneer. Angel restaurant is on that level. Angel restaurant serves delightful paneer. Highly recommended.
